Thanks to Jem for organising an excellent DFR2 and to Mrs Jem for plying us all with tea and bacon butties. Also to Rolleston Scout Group campsite - a fine venue. Which brings us to thinking of where to hold DFR3... I brought a Titlist front derailleur to give away but brought it home. If anyone wants it, it's theirs for the price of any postage. The cage is a bit worn inside and it needs cleaning, but perfectly usable. PM me about it and if you want pictures. Also, I found what looks like a head badge transfer for BLB (?) in the camping field. PM me if this is yours and I'll post it. Some photos: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last two. All photos are on Flickr. Perhaps we need a separate DFR group on Flickr ( or whatever photo sharing app people prefer). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Attachments:

And another thank you. To Jem and his wife for endless supply of tea and bacon and egg cobs and for setting up the tent. The route and site was gorgeous. And everyone was just exactly as I'd expected it. Wonderful people, those Viscount and Lambert owners.

John, I'd be interested in the Titlist if no-one else has beaten me to it - I'll PM you also. Thank's again for the other bits too. No photos from me I'm afraid but here's the link to my Strava record. I stopped it at the pub so all is ride-time although does include one or two 'detours' and laps of car parks which have added a couple of miles! www.strava.com/activities/159123731

And here's my write up, including the pictures I'd taken. Admittedly not even close to the quality of our 'resident' photographers. :-)

Here's a bit of shaky on board video taken with my phone: Kev, Love the video and yes it was the closest thing to going along for the ride. I know John (looking good in the Viscount shirt), Jem and Stella, but can you put names to the rest of the group?

Not sure this link will work, but here's my stats for the DFR2 from Garmin. Absolutely "flying" with an average speed of 5.5mph including put stops. Way faster than the 3.7mph from last year. Pretty reasonable moving average as well: connect.garmin.com/activity/530694238#.U7CEtadFTx4.gmail

Whippet - the video is just great. Made even more so by the utter certainty that if I'd tried that, it would have just recorded me wobbling uncertainly into a parked car and then being carted off in an ambulance...

We need to find a way to get you and Triitout over here for next year. We were all saying that it's such shame you can't be with us in person and you were dearly missed, the both of you. As were the ones who couldn't come for whatever reason.

Hey Scott! You mentioned that when you come on here you don't log in. I sent you a PM because I don't have your email address.
Can you log it to receive it please? Nothing urgent but I have a couple of questions.
Thanks
Jem

What a brilliant day out, lovely to see everyone, great ride, great venue, great company and magnificent bicycles. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. I had a pleasant ride into Derby, managed to only lose the route once which is good going for the NCN, and caught my train. Glad I did without the stress of worrying if I would get self and bike on the little diddy train from Tutbury & Hatton. The master organiser and a man with no mudguards and dubiously coloured shorts..

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Jem for organizing and to everyone else for making it a fantastic weekend (despite the numerous punctures) , would have done it last night but I didn't get home till 8 and I was shattered. Strava link and Flyby shows me catching up to Lewis and the rest of the group after puncture No.1 right at the start.

That man was I!It's nice to see the evidence of the work our "custodians of the countryside" put in to keep our highways and byways clear and clean. That's an irreplaceable pair of Hebden cords, one wearer from new in 1988, ruined. Thank you Farmer Giles. Hope everyone else's kit survived. Cheers, Pete.

Strava link and Flyby shows me catching up to Lewis and the rest of the group after puncture No.1 right at the start. That Flyby is quite neat! I have Strava on my iPhone but didn't think to turn it on, as I never use it (I use Cyclemeter) I am really glad people enjoyed the route. Typical though that the previous 3 weeks of weather were perfect, today would have been a great cycling day but the DRF2 weekend was damp and rained for us campers! I think we used up all of our good weather tokens last year?

Hi Chaps,
I need some techno advice!
I have several video clips from the ride which are way too big to post onto here. There are now on my computer but I don't have YouTube or Flickr accounts, so would I have to create such accounts, or are there alternative ways of posting clips online. The largest file is, I think, about 900MB - 2 minutes 40 seconds of video.

I'm not too familiar with this all, but 900MB sounds like a rather large clip. Would it be possible to change it to mp3 or mp4 or another--more digestible--file?

Their tech guidelines for uploading will help you shrink that 900MB down to something a bit more manageable, but still keep the quality. HD is nothing these days but Vimeo were the first to support it. b

OCD cleaning is with a toothbrush or a rag, and no water anywhere. 8^) Lovely to see Paselas on your Pro Goldie. Sidewalls didn't get too grubby in the damp weather which is good to see. b

What I needed was Vanish Brown!Tried all the usual remedies, now had six washes and doesn't look too bad. The shorts are irreplaceable, and as I can still get into them 25 years after they were bought,I'd hate to not be able to use them again in polite company. Cheers, Pete
