Great spot Raymondo.
SUPABIKE!!
Not in the running, but it's nice
Sheffield - within distance of a few of our members here to go get it and be riding it by the end of the day.
Not sure what offer the seller would take but I am going to predict that if they are flexible, that will be gone by the end of the weekend. The components alone fetch quite a bit now

Wow. Very nice. Surprising that the seller doesn't mention the finish - as we know Supabikes should be brushed chrome, I can't tell if this is chrome or silver paint. Most of the components are correct though - black first gen Dura Ace. Brake levers are a bit surprising - the first gen DA ones with extension levers were usually paired with DA centre-pull brakes, which the Supabike did not have. See Velobase for early DA brake levers. Is it really 23" ? Looks a bit smaller to me. And I'd get that stem slammed down too - looks dangerous sticking out so much. Nice stem though. I can't read the brand - thought Milremo initially but now I think it ends in an a. Not original. Should inspire me to finish building up my pseudo-supabike. I have all the components - except the correct frame!

The seller is a woman who's friend's dad passed away and it has been in the garage for 15 years or so.
I am a little bit tempted for it...but not at that price
I have the original parts this one os missing, so could combine to make 1 good one. Then I'd have a spare frame and some parts i could sell to recoup costs

Some good poker players on here...I think someone might swoop in for this at the right price
Ive done some prep work for you buyers by pointing out to seller that 3 years ago , mine was only £75 , albeit not quite as nice as that one ... so, even a reduction she offered wouldnt work for me

Nice but way out of my league in terms of price. It seems Viscount prices have really jumped up in general this summer.

Nice but way out of my league in terms of price. It seems Viscount prices have really jumped up in general this summer. I think the seller is being very, very optimistic at that price, but it's a nice one and the components add up to quite a bit sourced in isolation (I should know, I have been looking for such parts ) I guess when there's a 'make on offer' , the price is just an aspirational figure for the seller

Maybe for GBP 395.00 it comes with the cord of firewood.

I'm very happy it doesn't ship to the US for obvious reasons.

It seems pricey but it is oh so desirable and oh so nice. I suspect it would cost more than the asking price to take an old frame and build one like it. It needs a good home; I think one of you guys should buy it. Cycling has become more popular since the pandemic; I suppose it is a good time to sell.
Cheers Jim

If I bought it I’d probably just admire and polish it every day and use the cheaper bikes to ride on haha. Same when I was buying guitars, I got a 1964 Fender Jaguar and it never really came out of its case.

I’ve still got it Jem. I bought it from an ex marine on a guitar forum years ago so know it’s background, it was refinished in the 70’s so probably not worth as much as it would have been original. Can’t remember the last time I played it, I built up a Fender Duo Sonic and that gets used more.

My 1984 Fuji del Rey comes with four cord of firewood.
And a trip to Hopkinton State Park's version of Stonehenge:

You're right, Jim. A pristine 1st generation black Dura Ace group like that would cost a good bit more than half the asking price. The Dura Ace brake levers with the black body is rare, and I've never seen one with extension levers, although those could have been added. I don't think those are the original wheels, they would have had black Viscount hubs and sewup (sprint) rims. A lot of sewups of that era in the USA were swapped out for clenchers by the dealer at customer request. The bike seems to check all the boxes as a Supa.
I'm building up a "pseudo-Supa". My Viscount brushed chrome frame doesn't have the Dura Ace dropouts, the separate seat mast clamp, or the water bottle braze-ons. It did come with black Viscount hubs and headset and a type 3 death fork. So it's getting built up as a pseudo-Supa.
Best, John "wheelson"

Just out of interest, did the supabike use a DA bottom bracket, or retain the Lambert/Viscount sealed version? Thanks, Rod

Well, once I found out that the seller might be breaking it down to sell in parts, I had to do some haggling and get the price down to something I could live with.
Just got it home , will post some pics and thoughts later.

My own pseudo-Supa was more or less rescued off the scrap heap and it's good to see a real one "in the flesh" so I can make it as close to the real thing as possible. I'm about 80 percent there. Stem is a Milremo, despite the somewhat weird script. Here it is on Velobase. 'Ron Kitching's 1984 catalogue, page 17, refers to this type as the Super Sport: "A superior forged duralumin stem made especially for the pros. Fitted with concealed expander bolt and clip bolt, both with Allen-key heads, the clip is neatly engraved.", 75 mm is catalogue number MO A4109, 90 mm is catalogue number MO A4114, 100 mm is catalogue number MO A4119.'

The other good news is that Cusqueno is having the other Supabike frame that I have and maybe any other bits that might help to finish his project. So, I am doubly pleased we got it. Here's a few close up's , but nothing much more to show that wasn't in the original eBay listing. I have just propped a saddle on top for modelling purposes in the photos.(I don't ride at that angle, haha) If you note, the 2 frame numbers are 20 or so apart, so these brothers could well have been on the factory floor at the same time? What other numbers do people have on theirs? It's hard to get a feel of the history of the bike (normally, you just can kind of 'feel' how it's been used/stored/ridden...well, I often think I can , but maybe that's just an overactive storytelling imagination mixed with vague guess work based on components and condition and a little bit of back-story from the seller?) It doesn't look like it has been ridden much. ? The Campagnolo hubs (with very corroded spokes are certainly not from original bike, unless the buyer requested a change? So, maybe added after? The gearing and chain set don't look to have seen that many miles. It leads me to believe it was stored in a shed or garage that wasn't totally without some damp. My black Viscount has been tapped for Italian BB. It works great and allows many options.
