Check this out; I might have to look into this bike, that "Marco" got away; I wasn't interested in getting a typical entry level type of Japanese bike per almost any venue.
Interesting about the Sentinel, take a look at that on the quick release skewer:
Now compare to the Lambert "L", say per VinnieCircles flickr, it is different, there is no red line I can see inside the "L". And why would a company named "Sentinel" have something like that?? We already have one bike that is only used for emergencies but it is a woman's bike. Might try to get another one to have "just in case".

Just in case, anyone is in the Twin Cities, Sunday morning opening early is a bike swap at Penn Cycle Bloomington: minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/6164686234.htmlwww.facebook.com/groups/174852922573479/Looks like an emphasis on your balloon tyre styled bikes, maybe a few others, "muscle bikes" too. But who knows? I wanted to go last year but couldn't. I'm going to try to find some rear wheel axles; I heard there may be some selling spare parts. Those can cost a lot at the store. The rear wheel axle has given me all kinds of problems on this one bike I have. It's too short on the cog side. I've already been to the bike store over this and they did not help much.

This ol' boy was selling a bike, a Gitane, he was selling it cheap ($100). It was a bit old and dusty but I told him, Guv'nor, this looks like a Gitane Tour de France, 531 Reynolds double-butted and circa 1970-ish. And I pointed him in the direction of gitaneusa.com , a nifty website on Gitanes.
With Viscounts, one seems to see them sold from very inexpensive to expensive but I really didn't want to take advantage of the guy. I've been on my Viscount all the time recently, it does run smoothly. I even did a bit of camping over the weekend myself. I get weary of riding with too much weight on the Aerospace. I weigh 15 stone and then, at times, I was carrying about 20 pounds of gear, water, etc. though it seems fine. And long ago, I replaced the fork so that is not a concern.

I post at bikeforums.net in that Ebay/Craig's List thread, sometimes those bikes get snapped up pretty quick, I guess that's the aim but few of them are your big ticket items. minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/6145120538.htmlLove the mudguards on this, this is a bit expensive and may well be just a plain tubing bike, nonetheless, very minty and lovely. minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/6181388581.htmlGazelle, I could actually make a try for this one. Does anyone like Gazelles out there? It looks nice enough, just not really exceptional. Has anyone ever had any of these brands? Also, the Gitane ad, (just between us), it often helps if key words are misspelled... though I don't think I'm going to go for that, it's tres belle. It must be very French with those fenders/mudguards, they'd like that at tontonvelo I'll bet. forum.tontonvelo.com/viewforum.php?f=30&sid=a87117b745a852598adec25df064331a Looks kind of small but I can't be sure about that. Those Sentinels went pretty quick, they looked like good bikes.

Vintage 1977 Viscount Grand Sport Aerospace 10 Speed Road Bicycle - $250 (Weston) wausau.craigslist.org/bik/6152567920.htmlThis bicycle is for the bicycle enthusiast and collector. Be the first one on your block to own an all original (except for normal wear items) vintage 1977 model Viscount Grand Sport Aerospace 10 Speed Road Bike that was hand crafted in England. The color is blue and the frame size is 23&1/2" (60cm). I purchased the bicycle new in 1977. Included is the original bill of sale and the owner's manual. The bicycle is in very good condition and has been very well cared for over the years. For those who are unfamiliar with the Aerospace line of bicycles, these handcrafted bicycles were designed and developed using the aerospace technology in both rare metals and ultra-precise methods of production. Performance that has earned the Viscount a special name among racing and touring enthusiasts around the world ..... they simple call it the flying machine. The frame of the Viscount is constructed from chrome-moly thin walled tubing by using the custom technique of low temperature, hand brazing of all joints. The ultra-light, ultra-strong chrome-moly alloy was originally developed by the aircraft industry in England to build the fuselages of aerobatic aircraft. Note: Sorry for the 2005 date on the photo. I neglected to update my camera. --------- Check photos at link. Looks like the foam handlebar covers.

Hot Dog, a nice Lambert here, simple ad but it really looks nice, it's been up there a month. That's the thing about Craig's List, you find a bike and then, "oh, it's been there all this time". I will save photo but here is the link. Obviously, someone took the pedals off. I'll have to think about this. Drive side photo but I think it is a porthole crank and to me, it looks like a chromed crown fork, not the original one. minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/6151129602.htmlAnd this after the banks have closed on Saturday; I will study this, I don't think I'd care for the 2nd bike though I know, Hawthorns were good bikes, just not my thing and those white walls look nice.

Kickstandman thanks for the heads up on the above post, this baby was (blocks away) literally in my backyard. I picked up the Lambert at a very good price. The bike is in great shape, the paint has very little scratches. What i really like is it had the original saddle which helps with my restoration project.
The Hawthorn is also very nice, working headlight & taillight. It's the Lady & Tramp addition. The guy even had an older Schwinn he was looking to sell.
My wife would have beat me if I came home with 3 bikes.

Anyone up in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area? A nice inexpensive ($65) bright yellow, very original Gran Touring in what appears to be 23 1/2" size just showed up. I have a soft spot for the Gran Touring line since the alternate blue color was my first Viscount going back to 1976. I purchased the yellow version about 5 years ago at about the same price. Great bike and very upgradeable if so desired! greenbay.craigslist.org/bik/6203076081.htmlDallas folks also have a winner! Red and white Aerospace GP which looks very original with Death Fork in place and probably 23 1/2" as well. Don't try to negotiate price on this one. He's "firm" at $50! dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bik/6204474473.html

I have a battered Aerospace frame in that shade of yellow. It's been repainted, but perhaps in the original colour, which I rather like. Good prices too. Someone should snap them up.

San Francisco, Triple crank on this Viscount: sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/d/59cmlightweight-viscount/6518292008.htmlViscount Dick Wright Aerospace Classic Vintage Road - $200 (Sacramento) sacramento.craigslist.org/bik/d/viscount-dick-wright/6517344822.htmlIt says the model is "Dick Wright", anyone know about this? It is actually signed on both sides of the top tube next to the cable! How about that. I'll save photos, what the heck, it does look a bit like felt pen but that would wash off in rain. Update: Craig's List sales ad now deleted, so sold or someone might have contacted the ol' boy over the signature puzzle and the ad could be revamped, any number of reasons.
The "autograph" I assume, the signature, whatever, was placed above the "Aerospace Pro" signature decal, that is why there is no bottom for the "g" I gather in image 4 at the above link. Ink would have worn away I would think. The signature is on both sides of the back brake cable straddling the top tube in image 2 at the link. But I would not think that is a decal or sticker. A bit of an odd mystery. Searching for "Dick Wright Cyclist" came up with a few hits but nothing really confirming anything.

I'd be driving home with that Volkscycle now if I lived within an hour or two of that.

I'd be driving home with that Volkscycle now if I lived within an hour or two of that. Is that because of the headbadge with JWB? Or is it because it is a fine handling bicycle?

Some time ago, we all spoke about "Mixtes", here is a pretty nice Falcon Monaco Mixte, I think it'd be the thing to get for a Mixte lover and if it fit them. minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/bik/d/mixte-falcon-monaco-road-bike/6510819402.htmlStep through is pretty nice, we have a woman's bike that is too small for most males but I did some rides on it at first, because it really does run well despite the cramped position.

It's that head badge with JWB on which are my initials . I know...not a rational reason to buy a bike, but it just sort of appeals to me.

That would be snapped up around here. I have said many times but I will say it again, the mixt Sebring i bought for parts then actually gave to my wife, is one of the finest riding bikes I ever sat on

Here is kind of a humourous departure from the Craig's List ads we talk about (or maybe it would be funny if it weren't so serious, I certainly don't want to see anyone hurt, financially, carwise per bad mechanic issues just like on a bike). Sometime last year, I looked at the cars they sold and I also looked at "automotive services", there has been a running battle between a mechanic selling his services and someone who is really really upset at the guy! These ads are pretty long. I actually talked to this mechanic once. I thought the guy who is upset about this mechanic had stopped posting his stuff, I hadn't been there in weeks on the "automotive services" page, anyway, to cut to the chase, this is what the guy who doesn't like this mechanic one bit writes (I also corresponded with him once, it was about getting "brake lines" fixed). This is a bit time consuming to read, if one is busy, so just posting, one can read it at leisure moments, the TV link at the end is new to me: Now, here is an ad for the mechanic the above is calling a scam and he posts like lots of ads one sees: The thing is, his prices really are very very cheap. It would catch a lot of people's eyes. Main page for the auto-services: minneapolis.craigslist.org/search/aosI wonder if this has ever happened in other cities? These have been running, who knows, maybe up to a year or more. You call the mechanic, I'm surprised maybe the one guy doesn't try to catch the other. Bike thieves, things like that, sometimes you see warnings like that on Craig's List too, well, that is a good thing. For the record, it casts doubt on this mechanic but I don't know for a fact if he is a bad guy, this other could be someone who is jealous of this mechanic selling services so cheap; anyway, I have had no direct dealings with either of this two in their bickering. Heck, straight-up garages with certified mechanics mess up cars, you learn the hard way and generally, I don't like to go to mechanics, I do some maintenance myself. I know 2 guys, they are okay. We had one good honest mechanic in town but he moved. It's real drama watching these ads.
