Best wishes to everyone for an enjoyable Festive season, whatever your calling. Thanks to everyone here for all your advice and companionship in 2015, and I hope Santa brings you all the components, accessories and tools you could wish for. Particular thanks to Jem/Sooper8 for all your work to bring us together both virtually and in person at DFR3, and to Dave(Sprockit) and Jem for introducing me to my Grand Sport and sparking my collection. Does anyone fancy meeting up to join in the fun around the Tour de Yorkshire over the weekend of 29th April to 1st May? My family live near Otley, which is the start point for Day2, Sunday 30th April, so I could scout for a local campsite and plan some gentle tours and samplings of local delicacies (Beer, pork pies, beer, black pudding, beer, rhubarb tart & custard, beer, etc.) 2015 was good to me, as I rediscovered the joys of Viscount ownership so I'm celebrating. I hope you all have something to celebrate too, but if not, put it behind you and look forward to 2016 and DFR4. Rob

YES! A toast is in order. Several toasts, in fact. I'm am very glad to have found this group and appreciative of the effort to keep it running, not to mention the amazing wealth of knowledge and endless encouragement. So toasts to one and all!
Happy Holidays, all of them, to all. Frank

A giant humbug to cyclists everywhere! That should keep the pedals turning, if the rain ever stops. Cheers, Pete.

John,I tend not to do the christmas thing! I grew the beard when I realised how much of life is spent shaving! Apart from which,I don't look in mirrors, unless I'm driving. Jem,I've been looking forward to DFR4 for along time.Totally fed up with the rain, thinking I'll need to get a Viscount based pedal boat! Happy what ever to all. Cheers, Pete.

Pete - I've not been out on my bike for at least a month (Not sure I can even call myself a cyclist anymore?)
Jim - I'm going to use that disclaimer in some shape or form. Just about ticks every box without offending anyone.
DFR4 - Something will be happening for sure! Hard to believe we are approaching a fourth annual event eh?

By the way, is anyone else having a white Christmas? Attached photos are this morning, looking out my back door; the dogs must try their new toys. Jim

Jim Here in UK we have had an unseasonably warm autumn and early winter. It also been very wet and many places up north flooded (again). Just heard from family near Ontario and they are having a warm, wet and green winter. It is a full moon though...first time on Christmas Day in 38 years, so I hear.

I can only see the moon, last time I heard it was when the Marcelles were singing about it being blue! I've always loved that! Cheers, Pete.

We've got a foggy Christmas on Long Island. 8 degrees warmer than L.A. yesterday! 3 1/2 days off from work and still riding outdoors in shorts no less. Temps in the 60's. Somewhere down the line we'll pay for this but for now I'm lovin it, and the season continues.
happy holidays, y'all
Michael

Not too bad of weather but too little sunlight but not terrifically cold. I use to use big boots cycling in the winter but now, wool socks on my normal shoes seem to work well enough. I use to be on the winter cycling discussion list; this one fellow from somewhere like Sweden would say he'd always bring, what was it? Something like "old geet" every time he'd ride, "old geet" is a codeword for something that warms you up inside and I may well, go that route again soon. So, to me, that's a rather mild drinking pleasure, something like Cinnamon Shnappes so as not to go overboard. Yes, some may well disagree with that; but in the winter, at times, people are not out and one winter, I really got into a very remote and rural area and by the river with snow all around and the moon shining overhead on a clear night, it was very enjoyable. Any suggestions?
