Hi All,
I mailed the seller of that magnificent, mint mixte Metro to pass on our forum address to the buyer of the bike, just in case they are interested and wanted to join us.
He/she mailed me back to say they would, and they have a Tony Doyle that was ridden once, cleaned then put away in the loft in a bag. He asked if I knew anyone who would be interested before it goes on eBay...?
If so,mail or pm me- I will put you in touch. Photo's to follow.

Cheers Jem. No panic, my brother hasn't cycled for 35 years, I'm sure he can wait a bit longer.

Doesn't matter Jem, I'm not even sure that a 1970's racer is the best reintroduction into cycling after 35 years anyway. Actually trying to tempt him with a flat handlebar city bike with triple chainring and 32mm tyres at the moment.

I mentioned this before in a post, but I was browsing in a Decathlon store a while back and would be sorely tempted by a few of their bikes. The price is good, and they seem like functional bikes that you could add some extras to and have yourself a bike for most occasions. Something like this
or this
or push the boat out
