Hi ollie, welcome to the fun. That's a nice Aerospace frame you picked up, and I think it was a good trade. Please keep us up to date on how the bike feels when riding, any changes you might make, all of that.
As for your Peugeot, that's not too carried away. I like that bike. As I look at the photo you put up, I like it a lot.

Nice looking.
I don't chop bars, I guess that's a fad, I'm a traditionalist especially with a classic bike.

Those are stock Cervelo TT bars, old school diameters. I don't chop bars either. My son did, then hated it, and we were both quite sorry that he trashed a very nice 3TTT bar to learn that.

I like the Peugeot! I have had several over the years and currently have a 1984 PY10. Jim

oldroadie - I had a Peugeot made of 531 Professional once. Lugged and a similar colour scheme to yours but it was called an Aneto. Nice bike but a bit small for me so it had to go.

Thanks Cusqueno! I dearly love the old Peugeot even though it is a size larger than I prefer (note low saddle). Nevertheless, the top tube is right for me so it works. I have always been a Peugeot fan and wanted the last and best of their steel frames. I purchased the frame from a seller in the UK as they did not import the last of the PY10s to the US. In the US they instead sold the PY10FC carbon tube bike (probably a Vitus in disguise). I equipped it with an NRecord long cage conversion and a triple.

Just finished my '76 PX-10. Wasn't able to re-use most of the O.E. components, so set it up as a period correct Campy Record/NR/SR bike. O.E. Bar & stem, Mafac brakes. PX-10
Used some of the money made from selling my Viscount.... had most of the parts in my bin. Hoping to get it our for a test ride soon, if the weather cooperates. For those who might be interested my current "stable" is here: VTchuck's Bikes

I love that Falcon San Remo. Such a classy bike. Great colour scheme.

sooper8 & triitout: The Falcon is a special bike for me. A gift from my late father-in-law.... who had convinced me to buy a Lambert and then felt badly when the Lambert self-destructed in numerous ways. It was too large for him and a bit small for me. I rode it during my brief and forgettable racing "career" and many miles of training & touring during the 70's. After I got the Romic in 77, it became my primary bike and I rode the Falcon much less. It originally came with 531 chrome round section track forks with road dropouts. It was a pretty stiff and jarring ride, especially as I got older. Apparently, there were some shortages and delays in chroming and Falcon made some substitutions for the chrome road forks. track forksRecently I found 531 road forks and a set of white panel decals and made the conversion. I plan on passing it on to my heirs.

If you ever find a deal on a Centurion Ironman Expert or Master, grab it. Great riding bike with Tange 1 tubing will come in about 22 lbs with a decent wheel set. Very cool color schemes. Next to Viscount, my new favorite. Good to see you back Tom, and I guess the snow is gone! I would like a classic Japanese bike..... but I can't say I'm a fan of the paint jobs.... I love my Trek 660, but the silver with teal decals is not my cup of tea. I tried to make the best of it. The other paint option was a really striking white w/ red lettering. And the "fade" on my soul-less piece of molded plastic LeMond ......fuggedaboudit! It was warm enough on Sunday for me to pump up the tires on my bikes and take each on a short test ride. By this morning we had snow. May get to 50F tomorrow, so I may get another chance to ride, before winter returns.
