Have any of you used an aerospace frame for cyclocross? If so, how well did it work, and did the frame stand up to the stress?
Thanks Jim

Thanks Jim Busaste, who has collected a lot of knowledge about the bikes, has told me (if I recall correctly) that there was a Viscount cyclocross team back in the day (and, like all the Viscount teams, it used bikes off the production line). I'm sure someone, it might have been Busaste or somene else, has also told me they bought a Viscount Aerospace from someone who used it for cyclocross regularly. So I think the answer is that it worked OK and stood the punishment.

I recall the same story from Bustaste.

Very cool! I think that will be the fate of my second Viscount frame. Are there any pictures out there?
Cheers Jim

Jim, Bustaste started a wonderful thread on CTC several years back, that led, I believe to the formation of this group. He discussed cyclo cross on several posts there. I've only gotten to page 4 or 5 so far, and the whole thread is over a hundred pages, but I recall reading a bit about cross. Totally interesting, and Steve B. if you're around here somewhere, hats off!

I've just revisited the CTC Viscount thread. A disadvantage with it I find is that the CTC forum search function seems a bit hit and miss. But that was on Tapatalk, perhaps it's better in a browser. I did find a post from Steve in which he says that one of the alloy forks he has has done more than 60,000 miles and been used in cyclocross championships, attached to an Aerospace frame.
