Done. As far as US copyright law is concerned, this is all we need. I just posted the same think on the FB page. I don't know if UK law is different? EU? and where ever Kinesis has there HQ?
Whippet, I think this makes you the copyright holder. Not sure.

Yes, Viscount Owners Cycling Club Facebook page. Death Fork Ride © copyright, 2015, Viscount Owners Cycling Club. All rights reserved Theoretically, we don't even have to put the mark. Anything an American writes as an original work is his/her copyright. I believe that anything published in the US has the same rights. That includes this board. Frank

Just found and liked the FB page!
I'm not too sure about copyright laws but I believe you have to state an image/statement/publication belongs to you in order for it to have some protection against possible misuse or slander.

Well, yes, you do have to identify yourself as the writer / photographer / artist. I noted the Viscount Club for copyrights thinking that in this instance a group ownership might be more formidable to a potential hijacker.

I was being a bit flippant about copywrite. Just pointing out yet another modern fork recall, shame that something that is common now meant the end of Viscount in the 80's.

True that. Trek, Kinesis, even Colnago have had recalls recently. don't see them going under.
Maybe we should have a BIG international Death Fork Rally, and invite owners who are still riding any bike with a fork that has been officially recalled. Just an idea.

Frank I think we worked out a while back that there's not the same level of love and dedication for other bike's as we seem to have here for the Lambert/Trusty/Viscount brand. We even wondered why there are no forum (fora?) for makes such as Falcon, who were a Viscount contemporary and competitor...are they just not as fanatical? I guess that a World Death Fork Day would still be just us lot standing around in a car park....

I agree there Jem.The only difference being, most of our forks still haven't broken, even though now older than a lot of the riders! Can't say that for the other makes can we? Cheers, Pete.

I think what you'd need would be to trademark it, not copyright. Not that I'm an IP lawyer or anything. Anyway who would have thought that in this day and age, when we can send a probe to Pluto, forks would still be separating from their steerers, eh? b

He might have added that you could buy an off-the-peg touring derailleur that weighed 145g.
