Fred Williams is still a bike shop, apparently, and it looks as if they do their own label. Might they have had permission / contract to re-badge Lamberts / Viscounts? That's a long shot, I'm guessing...

Here's another one. Wes Mason used to build frames in Harrogate and was at one time linked with MKM. But doesn't this look like a Lambert or Viscount fillet brazed frame? No word about the bottom bracket bearings unfortunately. Just the thing for someone languishing on N bikes and wanting to move up to N+1.

You can see the bottom bracket clearly on one of the photos. It's one of ours! I'm watching it. Cheers, Pete.

Looking at it on my phone I didn't notice the extra pictures. If we had a data base of serial numbers we might be able to tell something from the one on the BB shell...

So someone repainted and rebadged it into a Mason? The fork isn't L/V, but I'm with Pete on the frame. Did anyone else, at any time, press fit BB bearings in that way? Current "press fit" BBs are component company stock, not the frame maker, as far as I know.

Klein used an arrangement very similar to the Lambert/Viscount at one time. No circlips I think they used Locktite. Busaste knows more about this.

Thanks John, I found some threads with details on CTC and - was it your blog? Interesting, and I see the resemblance to Stella's tools. I may may have to get something like that, if this keeps up.
