As Lewisg pointed out the other day- there is a strange phenomenon of certain models coming up for sale in clusters. And this example has one at each end of the country! The ladies Metro. I guess this was from the same line up as the Pullman as it uses British Transport related themes. I really like the font and minimal design for this one. I guess today we would call in a graphic designer for this kind of thing, but on the limited surface area of a bike it would seem that other than picking a font and a few well judged lines, there isn't much call for graphic artists in the bike world? Both appear to be Huret rd's and at least one of them has really nice high flange hubs. I think they are over valuing them personally but if they were closer to me then I am sure my wife would be looking at me to put in an offer. For info, both on eBay.uk

I couldn't believe they both popped up on the same day. Assumed they were the same bike, but one in Southampton and the other in Glasgow. Thought the other "Viscount Reynolds 531" lugged frame was a tad optimistic at £190.

I thought the guy selling the 'Pro's on CTC was setting his price a bit high (he didn't even have pictures on the posting) , but he's put a Flickr link to the pics and it looks very very nice indeed. Not many miles done on that at all.
If anyone is after a very good example of one of the best light weight steel bikes made in the last 40 years, then maybe it's for you !?

Just read the description for the Glasgow Metro: BRAND NEW / UNUSED!!!!
No wonder it looks good.
Right, how we going to justify this one? ( joking )... ( probably ).

I'd justify it by saying, as I nervously shuffled from foot to foot, " well, I was already in York picking up the Pullman and thought I'd carry on and just nip up to Glasgow. And Kev told me it was completely mint condition" EDIT- I love the matching mudguards and wonderfully period saddle bag. I want it!

Could do a bike collecting Grand Tour: Pullman from York; the Colorado GT International from Lothian (it had a lovely freewheel with skiptooth on both first and second gear!); and the Metro from Glasgow. If the prices were lower I'd come back well happy! Incidentally the Glasgow Metro has the same 3-spoke chainwheel as the 5-speed Sport that I rode at last year's Death Fork Rally. I've not seen it on any other bike on the forums, or on eBay. Sprockit

Doesn't look like a Viscount to me. The frame has been in a front end crash,it shows typical top and down tube deformation thus caused. Also, it's a real parts box special, definitely not worth considering!!! Cheers, Pete.

I thought the description sounded suspect.

Now there's a Mixte Metro for sale in Sheffield (on Gumtree). Strange days eh? EDIT- It can't just be the same one going back and forth can it...?

I see the new unused Glasgow Metro only went for £32. Real bargain, I would have bought it but was trapped at local cycle club annual dinner.

The other one didn't go for it's asking price of £45 either. I contacted seller of the Glasgow one and they are happy for buyer to organise a courier. I am so badly tempted.

Think you're right, both have just popped back onto eBay. Someone needs to buy the Glasgow one.

Very tempted, but you never know, a 23 inch Pullman might come up next week.

Very tempted, but you never know, a 23 inch Pullman might come up next week. Go on Kev! After you bought it ,you could sell the saddle bag for almost £50 to one of these London retro types.....making the bike virtually free?

£50, hope the new owner appreciates it. Glad that's over! Phew, I'm glad too.I was weakening to the point I almost crumbled. In that last minute, I was imagining how embarrassing if got into a bidding war with you over it and had to own up I'd bought it. I really hope they love it! £50 (with a £30 saddle bag) I might drop the seller a line and ask him to pass this forum address on to the buyer so they can post up pics etc
