Do you have a favourite bit? Maybe there's lots of them that you love. Here's a thread to share pics of your favourite Viscount angles. b

I'll start it off. Today I was looking out the kitchen window at the Supa Sport and realised how much I loved the clean simplicity of the rear view of the seat cluster. b

I'll take the porthole chainring. Just a cool, visual look. I recently picked up one from a bike shop scrap heap that was a dealer in the day. I will see if I can repurpose it as a clock and who doesn't stare at a clock Second pick would be just a 23" (where the proportions look just right), fillet braze frame itself. Just clean, simple lines.

Hi Rob, I am not great at explaining things in written words...but here goes (with the addition of pics) First example here , I am using Flickr but will show a Photobucket code example at the end too (Flickr wasn't working for me a few months ago, and I know it has been the source of frustration for a few others here too) First, go on to your photosteam on-line (i.e. the pics must be hosted somewhere ) Then Next bit has potential for confusion... So in this next shot, I have already clicked on the 'reply' button' - but it brings up this more advanced screen. Your code will still be there but I don't have it in this shot. I was feeling nauseous by this point because of all the self referential screens that I was looking at- I felt like I was looking at a picture of a screen shot, of a picture, of the post I was editing of the code I was copying of the window I was looking at , of the post I was doing....of the,...of the.....you get the idea? then here is it on Photobucket, after copying that bottom code called IMG - repeat the rest of the operations to get pic up

Thanks, Jem. Testing... Untitled by RMT@261, on Flickr Yay! So DON'T use the 'insert image' button - just paste the BB Code link into the message.

Another way is from Google photos (if you have an Android phone and a Google account), right click the image when you have it open and "save image URL" then paste that into the URL field in the "insert image" window. b

I love the brake QRs on my Pro - and also how lean/mean it looks waiting for me at work with the black sections lost against the black double doors at the bottom of the store.

I'm with Michael - the 52t porthole chainring is THE ticket, followed by aerospace frames, and Viscount hubs, especially if the QR still had the "V". That chainring gave the bikes instant brand identity, without going the circus route of, say, my Giant Defy, which came with more Giant logos on it than I could ever count accurately. I've removed something like 14 logos and you wouldn't know it to look at the bike. It's a billboard. An aerospace Viscount with the porthole ring? That's class. Unmistakable class. FWIW - I post from Flickr, by bringing up the photo I want, right clicking, selecting "view page info". Inside that box I find the line that ends with " .jpeg " and copy it. Here I click the Insert Image box and paste into the "Image url" line, tab, give it a name, enter. Pops right up, every time. But as you can see, it's always the big image. Frank

And the pedals have even got their dust caps. b

I like all the Viscount branded bits, but the chainring and pedals are the best parts. Had these polished up. They had been sitting for literally decades unattended to but came out looking better than new. The polishing was done last January and it's held up pretty well. I used museum wax on them afterwards. I was planning on putting my bike back together last winter but getting the chroming done on certain parts took a few weeks and by the time everything was ready to go, it was May already. My garage gets in the 90s plus (35 C) during the summer, not to mention the 85% humidity here in Florida. I have a Lambert beater that I use for my neighborhood jaunts, so I didn't need to torture myself getting the Viscount together. Soon....

Holy cow! What a magnificent polishing job! How long did that take, and how did you go about it?

I have just taken delivery of the above, and would love to know the stages to go through to get it looking like yours.

It was real easy. I gave a guy some money and he did it. He has a one man polishing shop. He does all sorts of motorcycle and car stuff. He has a warehouse full of polishers and buffers. Did the brake parts, fork and stem as well, all coming back with a mirror finish. They were all corroded and nasty looking but he knew how to take care of it. Hard to believe the job he did on the pedals. Seems like it would be hard to get in all the nooks and crannies. I think all together it was around $200 for everything.

And what's the story behind the head badge in your avatar image? Same guy?

Headbadge was put together by a woman in Philadelphia. She makes custom badges for hand built bikes as well. Jen Green is her name and she has a website with all her work. Amazing stuff. I sent her an image of the Viscount badge and she went from there. It's actually three pieces soldered together, polished and painted. Looks fantastic. On the aluminium parts, I attempted to do the polishing myself. I bought an el cheapo wheel and it basically was a waste for this kind of job. Maybe very small parts. It's a messy, dirty process. I found the guy I used on craigslist. I'm sure there's someone in your area as well. I got lucky on the first try with this guy. Really knows his stuff. If you're going to do it yourself, it's like a four step process. I tried a couple of pieces with a acid bath of Alumiprep which gets out all the corrosion. If it's pitted deep enough, you have to sand with various grits and then start the polishing process going through the different grits and polishes. So you can see why it's easier to have an expert do it.
