Mmh, funky looking font.
My gut reaction is that it isn't... no real basis for that. But I don't think you'd have the model name on top bar and seat tube and then Viscount decal just on head tube?
Also, the 'Olympic' decals look pretty new, too new for that bike? My guess, with that cottered crank, that it's round about 1980 ish- something like a Colarado?
However, there was (is?) a Viscount on Gumtree in London (a mixte) that has the (mis?) title 'Viscount Olympic', but I thought was a Deore...I suppose there might be something in that?
Only person who might know for sure would be Bustaste, if he's about?

My thoughts precisely. The font and decal design looks really modern, especially that top tube - looks like something Wiggo would have. Though Viscount did make some pretty funky efforts - Tulsa, Metro, President... so same(ish) era a Colorado which I also suspected.
The paintwork on the frame seems really clean too. Less so on the forks (around lamp bracket), and compared to the hanger on the headset. The demarcation bands don't match any V's I've come across although I do like the placement on front & rear forks, and the fact that the red stripe is visible on/through the FD.
Tbh the only thing that definitely says Viscount is the headbadge though a lot of the Colorados etc do seem to have similar GB stems...
I've spent hours this evening trawling Google and have nothing to prove or debunk the decals either way - If I was closer I'd be quite tempted as a curiosity if nothing else!

I mailed the seller - he confirms he just bought stickers from Halfords and stuck them on. He'd previously covered up the Viscount badges and resprayed the bike.
He referred me to Cusqueno's blog for more info on Viscount bikes.
Myth Busted! as they say on the TV show.

I agree that he's done positioned them really well though.

Perhaps when folks post about a bike that is being sold, they could post a picture so future users might be able to read these threads and know what was being talked about. A good rule of thumb to do. For example:

Yes, it would help and form a great data base for present and future Viscount lovers - however , the issue we have when the bike is on an auction or classified site the pics eventually disappear(the above did have a picture when it was current) -so the poster here would have to take a screen snap or some such, then host it before eventually posting it on here. And on top of that, I wouldn't want to do it too often as ideally I'd ask permission to use pics if they weren't mine- Which I have done a couple of times in the past.
So linking to a site is the easiest option - but unfortunately for us, it's as permanent as bubble gum pop music, as transient as a passing cloud or as fickle as the moods of the masses.

Okay if that is how it works. I thought maybe if one did the right button on the mouse on an image and then clicked "view image", the way I do it and then post the URL to image, it might work. But I take your word for it, it does not work.
Anyway, I just found a kind of neat Viscount with the Yamaha paperwork for a new fork, "Long Island" NY Craig's list, I think I will make it a separate thread in the Trade area and we will see when the pix go bad as well. I save some photos but admittedly, that is extra work.
Thank You for your response!

I'll have you know I have a Cheshire accent! I was reading it in a Staffordshire accent. Another day off my bike by the look of outside. Now I'll have to dodge the inevitable jobs that really need doing, before sneaking of to the Carters! Cheers, Pete.

I'll have you know I have a Cheshire accent! I was reading it in a Staffordshire accent. Apologies Pete - I seem to recall you mentioning Birkenhead and maybe the connection just stuck. So, we are 'County neighbours' ? My ancestral town is very close to Chesire border, but I wouldn't be rushing to visit unless it's to the house which is quite a decent but relatively modest stately home. Gardens are nice though. ps weather will be picking up by mid afternoon I hear.
