So I finally came out of denial and admitted that the Viscount I've been riding is at least one size too small, even as a TT specific bike. I also managed somehow to bungle the installation of one of the rear wheel bearings, and it's gone bad quickly. so to remedy both problems at once, I sold the frame, bb, crank arms, carbon fork w/ matching headset, stem and bars to a friend. I have picked up an Aerospace Pro frame, black and silver, and will start switching the parts as soon as I get the bearing situation worked out and a new headset. The new acquisition is in nice condition, in someways better than the first one, but has a couple of good sized chips off the black, and some damage to the shield stickers. On the other hand, it did not spend a decade or two in a barn, so the silver paint is still very silver, lacking that brownish - I'll call it "patina" - of the silver and blue frame. And black is so easy to touch up.
Sooper8 are you the one with the "Death Fork" decals? I'd like to get a pair or two, even if I don't use the fork on the bike, as the effect is wonderful.
Here's a photo of the frame as it currently looks:
Well, OK, two photos:
This will be a TT build, as was the first. It's still a bit small for me to use as a general riding / training / fun bike. Honestly, I don't think I'll get one for that sort of thing until after I get over for a DFR, pub crawl, etc.
Hey Stella, I've never done business with the shop on the sticker, and it occurs to me that a similar one, if your place has them, would be quite interesting to have on the bike. Good conversation starter and all that. Along with Death Fork decals, of course. Is such a thing available?
Happy riding,
Frank
