Frank, my favourite out of those is your second link, the Viscount, for display only. I would be quite willing to give it a home, if it were this side of the pond. Scott

I'm with Scottw on the red/white gp and it looks to be 1" bigger than your current ride. Those are in all probability the original tires with almost no wear so it's really like new. The East Coast bike is way tiny for you. Bring home a winner If the seller is handy and can load it into a store bicycle box, shipping with www.bikeflights.com is reasonable. I've done that with several CL purchases and went fine.

If they were over here, I'd take the purple Lambert. In fact, if I had the space, I'd take the lot. lol They all seem in good condition, though.

Well, understand the first two are on the east side of Michigan. We haven't heard from Jon, aka Slowroller, who lives over that way, but its a five hour drive for me. The purple Lambert is lovely, and really, right in the neighborhood - within 5 - 7 miles, but I can't see paying what he wants for a bike that will need a new fork - that's mostly likely a gen 1, wheels - complete, as those aren't Lambert hubs, a longer stem, brakes that match, saddle, maybe seat post... I tried when he first posted and he won't accept anything under two hundred, while the very OEM and excellent condition one in Michigan is $150 US. but too small for me. The other two are on the East Coast, and that is fully a thousand miles from here. Although Michael, aka triitout, might be on to something. I'm giving serious consideration to the one in Bay City. A better fit, it has the parts I want, mostly, I have friends I could visit, as I said, and since it's missing the Viscount hubs, those crown jewels of the Aerospace bikes, I might just have to make the extra time to continue on to Freeland, get the other as well, and swap wheels... oh, god, where's that tattoo guy? I think I need a tattoo... Stella, where would you put them all? See my other bikes post for a clue as to what my life is like... "And the torture never stops" Frank Zappa. Frank

I like them all; perhaps that is why I have too many bicycles? I do like the pristine but too small best. It seems that Viscounts are more plentiful on the East coast than here on the West coast; I have never seen one in CL.

There is no such thing as too many bicycles. Anyway, Viscounts seem to sell in rashes - some will be available, then a few months go by with nothing. I did find this one: Santa CruzAnd then these: South Bay areasomewhere near HaywardSan Jose east But I suspect these are all hundreds of miles away? That's all in and around the SF Bay, correct? Anyway, it's all too much fun. Frank

Two of the three ads seem to be the same; an excellent deal, and only 4 hours away. It is a size too small but tempting! I wonder how long it would take my good wife to get over it?

Forever, most likely. You're familiar with the equations of bike ownership? The balance between N and S is the exact right number of bikes to own. N+1 being, of course, "just one more." and S-1 is "Anymore bikes and I'm throwing you and them all on the street." Being single at the moment, the only questions are "where to put another bike?" and "would any girl in her right mind date someone whose dining room is a bike shop?"
I do insist that each gets at least one one hundred mile day in the course of each year, plus the various jaunts, in some sort of rotation.
Shiny side up! Frank

Is that the girls who get a 100 mile day? I'm knackered just thinking of that! I wont ask why you would want to show a girl your dining room.Breakfast in the kitchen perhaps? Cheers, Pete.

It's a typical Chicago two-flat, Pete. My front door opens directly into the dining room, no getting around it. Besides, I am who I am. Love me, love my bikes. etc. Not working all that well at the moment, but not all that interested in cleaning it up all presentable.

In my experience, the bikes tend to be more reliable, and cost less in the long term! Cheers, Pete.
