Just purchased a nice Lambert this morning. Blue frame, white head tube/seat tube. It needs an original RD, handlebars, stem and pedals. Just missed the handlebars, etc. on Ebay today. Does anyone know what RD would be correct for this, what looks to be a late model Lambert? I will take it apart, one of these days, and start rebuilding/polishing. It's perfectly ride able as is. Everything looks good except the white paint. The blue looks pretty good for original and will look fine with basic cleaning. Anyone that has, knows of or sees any of the above parts, let me know. I'm not sure what year this one is, but it has the porthole chain ring stamped Lambert, 10 speed, not the 15. There is a faded decal on the down tube that says Trophy with a crafted by Lambert of England underneath it. Did I mention it has the V 1.0 DF. I have a couple spare V 3.0.
Thanks, Jim.

I have a Lambert that is I think original - see pictures here. This has a SunTour Honor rear derailleur, but all other components are Lambert. The early Lamberts had an own-design RD of apparent and reputed fragility and what is more a slanted parallelogram. See pictures of my gold-plated Lambert, which has one of these. For whatever reason - whether because they didn't work, or worked but soon fell apart, or because they infringed SuTYour's patents on slanted-parallelogram designs - these were soon replaced by other derailleurs. (Incidentally, the gold 'bert is long-since finished and I ride it at the DFRs. I must put up some more up-to-date photos.) I think the Honor was used quite often. It's a competent mech, but all-steel and therefore quite heavy. I have been thinking of replacing the one on my bike with a contemporary alloy SunTour RD - a V Luxe or V GT Luxe. I think these were also seen on some Lamberts. Another one seen quite often is the Simplex plastic sorry Delrin derailleur. I think the red label one - whatever model that is.

Cusqueno, This Lambert is pretty much original except for the parts I mentioned above. The rear rim is original for sure. Not sure about the front. I don't know if they made them with two different type rims but the front is aluminium. The rear is the MF stainless steel rim. There is a faded decal on the front that I'm not familiar with. All the branded bolts look to be in fairly good shape, and should look pretty nice with a good cleaning. The L QR skewers are rusted up. Wish there was a way to pop that logo off and chrome the rest. As soon as I get my Viscount in one piece again, I'll start stripping this one down. Still waiting for the chrome pieces, among other things, for the Viscount. Here's a few photos. Picked it up for $100.
