I have
- a VGC Shimano Crane, Titlist, dt shifters and 14-24 5-speed freewheel set from a 1974 Aerospace Pro. Please take it all. Crane derailleurs are on eBay with wild price swings from $35.00 to $145.00 USD. Go figure. This Crane is almost NOS condition. The Titlist is not quite as clean, but still EC. Shifters are EC. Freewheel is clean, black, spins nicely, catches properly, almost no wear. $65.00 takes all.
- (I know I will regret selling this) Lambert marked 52T porthole chainring. GC to VGC. I have no idea what this might be worth. If you need one, or want one, make me an offer, please.
- Viscount brand leather and steel saddle. The leather is embossed "Hand crafted for Trusty of England" in an oval around "Viscount" and it has a white metal label riveted across the back, marked "Viscount made in England". There are two saddle bag tabs as well. $20.00 SOLD
- One Viscount centerpull caliper and a pair of matching brake levers. These need some TLC. The left hand lever has been bent a bit outboard and the caliper's "V" marks on the bolts have worn off completely. Levers come complete with extension levers. $10.00
- Tange Seiki Co. Ltd. headset, complete, VGC. Bearing races are immaculate. $10.00
- Nameless handlebars. I have two of these, one seems to be just a little bent inward on one side. $5 gets both.

- I also have the full chrome plated Tange steel fork from this bike as well. It's in really, really good shape - not a spot of rust on the chrome, and the only marks are from the wheel QR. Tange forged dropouts, too. (most of the steel replacement forks you see around here are not this nice. In it's day this was a top quality fork). $25.00

65mm threaded section
45mm keyed section

And finally - I'm not really sure I want to part with these, unless some other Viscount owner and enthusiast is in dire need. A pair of pedals, complete including dust caps, pair of brake calipers (I'll throw in the cable hangers), a seat post bolt, and a stem. All with solid Viscount "V"s intact. Let me know what you need, fill me in on your bike and build, and I'm sure you'll convince me to lend a hand.

- Shipping will be at cost.

Many thanks for dropping by and offering these up, and at reasonable prices too!

Couple of things that really tempt me here, but factoring in shipping and the prospect of import tax when they get to UK makes them less so.(I'm guessing you are in the US?)

What do people do if they want some photos and your email etc?

The bottom of the parts bin, by the way, also revealed a Lambert right crank arm to go with the chainring. Somewhere I might even have the bolts to hold it all together - stay tuned

The threshold for tax on imports to UK from none EU countries is £15, approx $22 today (anything below isn't charged). Then if it goes over that, the general rule of thumb is that they charge a fee for collecting the tax which is approx £8 and then the tax on top at 20%
So, in theory a $45 dollar value item(s) could cost $60 odd even without taking shipping into account.
I have had things come through that have gone below the radar by luck, and although I am not openly advocating others should break the laws of the land, I do know people who ask the sender to declare a lower value on the shipping label. As far as I can see the only problem with that is that if it goes missing in transit, then the compensation from the shipping company would only cover the declared amount, not the true amount, and somewhere along the line the buyer and seller would have to agree to share the burden of cost of lost item. However, where an item is very close to that threshold value, it really would make a lot of sense to put a shipping label value on it below the tax threshold.
But in all the years I have bought from overseas, nothing has ever gone amiss.
I accept taxes but feel that tax on used items to and from individuals should be exempt. After all, somebody has already been taxed on them when they bought them new, and we need to encourage the re-use of as many items as possible and get back to a culture of where we fix things and don't just throw them in the land fill. This tax doesn't support sustainability imho.

Agreed. Taxes on the sale of used items moves the burden of government cost further on to those who cannot afford to pay. Jefferson wrote at great length on the need to make the rich and wealthy pay up without burdening the farmer and wage earner. Sustainability just adds to the problem. Enough soap box preaching for now

Thank you for the info, I'll keep it in mind, along with the exchange rate. Certainly it should be easy to declare value that's under the threshold when the pricing is close anyway.

The other approach is to ask the sender to describe the item as a gift, which you might feel is morally true if you know each other, even if money has changed hands. However it throws responsibility and any unpleasantness back on the sender.

It could be £18.
I once looked into appealing on the tax on 'used watch parts' from US, and found it a Catch22 situation.
I was told that I could appeal but it was going to cost more to do that than pay the original tax bill.So even if I won, I would end up spending more for the small 'victory'. Very frustrating.
I would urge people to check and double check on 'used parts' and 'for repair' as I have been charged even on that basis a number of times.

A friend of mine was going to the U.S.and was wanting to buy a new guitar whilst there,they're much cheaper there.
He took a real old clunker in a battered case out with him.Bought a nice Gibson 335 left handed.Into the old case
it went,then back home to Blighty with not a problem with the airline or customs.Lots of money saved.
