I think you've happened to stumble over a Tulsa. It's definitely a metal head badge.

There's currently a listing for a shield head badge on eBay UK, which the seller claims is an original one (and it does look like it). I've bought one, although it hasn't yet arrived, and then the listing popped up again. I'm wondering whether to buy another ...

Did you notice the Trusty head badge in their other items? Cheers, Pete.

Below is a scan of some decals I've had made up by Velocals. The quality isn't obvious through the transfer film, but they are very nice. I don't know what the prices would be for just head tube badges posted from the USA. They offer Sebring, A/S Pro and A/S G.P. as standard sets, but were happy to make up the A/S Victor top tube decal, produce the demarcation bands in light gold & white and provide a light gold surround to the head and seat tube badges for the standard set price. Victor decal set by RMT@261, on Flickr I'll post more pics when they are fitted.

Did you notice the Trusty head badge in their other items? Cheers, Pete. I didnt realise it was the same seller. See item 181926283269 Interesting that 'Trusty' is in the same font as Used on Viscounts. I haven't seen that metal head badge before.

I've covered most of my decals up with helicopter tape which works well though, I do think I missed the top bar for some reason, I will study up. Helicopter tape is recommended if one wants to "preserve" decals. This website discusses it: frame-guard.co.uk/

How accurate are decals? I'm sure they usually are very accurate but in one case: Note, the golden highlight to "Raleigh". (From forum.tontonvelo.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=25828&sid=b9a1e6e8caa29dec7f17904e983bfb7a ) Now, if the following are the applicable ones for this model from Bicycle decals, it is difficult for me to see the gold lining however, the image may not be the best as well. It gives one a bit of a pause for thinking. Off topic from the decals, we can not quite figure out the year of this Raleigh Carlton, the serial number is not clear and at least, the front wheel has wing nuts (they call them something like Papillons, Butterflies). This bike in discussion at tontonvelo also made me look up the Raleigh Record black bike thread here. Maybe some bike restorers know the pros and cons of decals. I like the "bike restoration" bit but it seems difficult to obtain real perfection, I guess if it was a personal bike, I might try to get it as close to original as possible.

If anyone really, really, really wants a custom metal Viscount badge (which likely costs more than your bicycle), there is an artist in New York city who does beautiful work. www.headbadges.com/store/c2/Headbadges.html

We are working on a similar time scale here as I have this bike & am taking forever to find the bits I want & to just get down and do it. These look superb! Great work. Can I order from Red Bubble ( if that's what it's called?) when they are ready?

They look good. I am in the market for some, although perhaps I should find some touch-up paint for Linden Green first.

Glad you guys approve. Redbubble will do stickers but not custom printing. I will need to get a print specialist involved. I have one I know but I am open to ideas. Looking at the originals we need them to be printed exactly to size and on clear self adhesive vinyl. Hopefully not too much to ask!

Welcome aboard rob! Can't say I've heard of the Club model in the USA. Maybe a British exclusive? The decals look nice so please post where they're from. Maybe another option other than Velocals and H. Lloyd?
Cheers, Michael

Hi Michael , Thank you, They came from H.Lloyd, the 'Aerospace Club' decals look older than the other decals in the photo but in good condition. My restoration bike is s/n 103476, is all brazed, has the 6000-2rs sealed bearing BB hubs, and is all rubbed down to bare metal. It came as a pile of bits from ebay , looked unusual so I decided to give it a go. Some of the supplied running gear were completely unrelated to the model, so have started to collect a few period related bits for the rebuild. www.flickr.com/photos/58243615@N00/31549535255/in/dateposted-public/www.flickr.com/photos/58243615@N00/31436851591/in/dateposted-public/Thanks for commenting, hope someone knows anything regarding if the 'Club' model ever existed ?? Regards Rob

Hi Rob, Since you have the press fit bearings, the only lugless US models with that were the Pro, GP and Sport models. My knowledge of the UK models borders on nonexistent and useless!

Hi Guys, It's only been a year or more but I finally got round to completing the decals for the 600EX. I've also drawn the Chrome Molybdenum sticker and I can get it produced correctly too. Funnily enough I sold my green 600EX so I don't actually need any stickers till I happen upon another frame. If I get these put into print who would like some?

Siegeworks you beauty!! Great work.
Yes, I was searching the forum last week for the thread where we talked about these. Just doing up my 600ex and am on the hunt for touch up paint and decals.
I have found a car paint company locally that do that analysis thing, and make up a much or as little as you want. I'm literally just off out the house on my 600ex now to talk to them and get them to 'read' the colour on it.

Does anyone have a good hi-res image of the Sprint logo for the top tube? My resto of my baby Viscount is coming along nicely but I just need this image to be able to get the frame all done...

I have a couple of original Sprint decals: flic.kr/p/MLKhpwThey are 75mm long - just under three inches and are in good condition - one or two corners a bit creased but would probably smooth out when stuck on. Metallic self adhesive (no way of knowing if the 'stick' is still good). If these are what you need, message me and I'll post them to you (in the UK - overseas there might have to be a monetary adjustment).
