My local bike shop are doing a good deal on tis years Giant Propel 1 ( with Ultegra groupset ). £1,400.00 for one of these: www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/propel.advanced.1/19198/77273/I'm slightly ashamed to say I was almost tempted. Ought to be fast with an aero carbon frame. Went to see it in the flesh but very hard to get excited about bikes like this. Looks like I'll be competing on the Sport this year again. :-)

Yes Kev,the Sport is a far better looking bike! How many of them could you buy for the asking price. You could get a Sport down to a very reasonable weight using contemporary kit,and pay for a damn fine holiday. In France then, and not at DFR3. We'll miss you. You're the only steady video hand whilst riding! Cheers, Pete.

I'm kind of hoping that if folks decide Eroica is too expensive, then DFR3 date will change to one I can make.

Good point though Pete. I'd quite like to get another Aerospace to set up in Audax spec like Stoatie.

Proof that one Viscount isn't enough :-)

Urgh. I've worked on quite a few bikes that that. Not a fan. If, and only IF I'd go for a CF, then I'd probably go for a Cube. I tell you one thing, though: if there's anything not right with a CF, the tiniest knocking sound will annoyingly rattle through the whole frame.
One Viscount is never enough.

Good point though Pete. I'd quite like to get another Aerospace to set up in Audax spec like Stoatie. Kev,I have an SE aerospace frame, with lugged head tube, going free if you want it.It has a standard bottom bracket so the world is your shell fish there. It's a 22" frame, centre to top,and has reasonable chrome forks. It may need a bit of attention to the seat post clamp lugs and a respray after. I really need to reduce clutter in the garage. Cheers, Pete.

Pete, that's a very generous offer thanks :-)
I'm 23.5" though.

Seat post up a bit, longer stem?As I understand Audax, you need to be as comfortable as possible. It seems a very masochistic way of going for a ride to me! If anyone else would like it,shout up. Cheers, Pete.
