There's a Sebring for sale and the owner would be willing to sell it to me, but he's VERY cautious and wants my whole life story in order to 'trust' me. So if anyone's near Leicester and could collect it, pay him on collection (I pay you beforehand, of course), could you let me know, please? We then just need the bike to be send to London and Bob's your uncle. :-)

So, even if he has your money via Paypal, in his bank account, he's not willing to go that route?
If he was, then there is a great service (that I'll remember the name of soon) on the web , where you say the delivery details (ie Leicester to London) and various van drivers quote a price for the job. The benefit being they don't need it packaging up - they will just strap it in the van.
I'll look up the site, and give you the direct number of one guy I used if you want. I have his number and he charges less than he does through the web site - the web site takes and extra 6% for it's fee
I'm about an hour from Leicester, but am working every week up to christmas and weekends are pretty chocka block booked up with stuff.

Cool. No, we've sorted it. I assumed he knew I was paying him upfront. I'd love to have the number please, yes. Otherwise I'd use Paisley Fright which would be 22 or so.

The Van Quote web site wouldn't do better than £25, I don't think, but the up-side is you do not need to wrap it up for delivery.

It seems a tad difficult to arrange a courier for the guy's working and going to uni. If you could collect it, that would be fab! Takes a load off both of us. Would you be able to stick around for a courier to pick it up? They come between 7 and 7 I think. Cheers, Jem. If Scott has troubles with sticking around for a courier, I'd use your lorry driver. Sounds awesome. In fact, could you give me the number in any case?

The site is Anyvan.com and you input your start and finish points and then receive quotes.
I got a bike from somewhere near Reading up to me for £25, But have had much higher quotes on there. I had a few more quotes and haggled prices down.
I will message you the guys mobile and take it from there- he gave me the number to save him paying the Anyvan fee, and consequently a bit cheaper for me. Not sure if he was that cheap because he is based 10 miles from me or not?
You can mention me but I doubt he'll remember - say he got the bikes to the guy in Burton on Trent, near the hospital gave you the number. 2 years ago though, so doubt it. Nice bloke, he looked after the bikes and was really helpful with pick up and drop off times.

Thank you to Scott and Jem. Scott's going to pick up the bike tonight and we'll go from there re getting it to London. I'll get in touch with your guy, Jem, see if he's still in the business and what he'll quote. Otherwise it'll be Paisley Freight with whom I've had good experience. :-) I'm so excited about working on another Sebring. Hope it'll not reveal any cracks under the paint!

Stella, I have plenty of original 'SEBRING' decals/transfers/stickers you can have when you need some; or anyone else on the forum.

Thanks, John. I'll see what I'll do. The plan is the strip down and leaving it 'naked'.

Cheers, Raymondo. I'll keep you guys posted. As a matter of fact, just yesterday, when everything was sorted, one of my blog readers contacted me to say he's got an Sport frame and forks he'd like to give to me for the project. Needs a bit of repair, I think. Will need to see what can be done. And then I'd possibly use the Sebring to build sort of the same bike I did for my friend in yellow.
