I do apologise for my being absent. I've been busy working (and nursing a severely broken heart) and just didn't have the energy to contribute. That doesn't mean I have forgotten about you guys, or Viscounts/Lamberts. How could I, I'm commuting on one almost every day.
And because it's also been for too long since I've worked on a Viscount/Lambert, or build one up, I've decided that I'd like to pull out that Indy 500 frame, get it resprayed (I think) and build that fixie I'd planned for ages. The frame is pretty rusty and I originally wanted to just whack some parts on it to make it my winter commuter that can be locked up without attracting thieves, but I just can't help it: I think it deserves a lot more love. Not sure what colour (I'm inclined to go yellow or maybe go back to the original idea of stripping it and exposing the welding) ... haven't made up my mind, it'll get a flip flop hub (in case I can't handle fixed) which I'll build into polished alloy rims.
Upright riding position, will get old brake levers for that. And I'll use the mudguards that came with the bike. Hopefully I can get that old Middleton saddle to work for me, otherwise it's got to be a Brooks.
I'll keep you posted on the progress. Luckily, I'll have a few days off next week, so I can get the basics done. I'm also in the process of changing my work arrangements, for my work/life balance is out of whack. I want to be able to continue with my blog and contribute here again. I've missed you lot!
