Picked up this bike off CL to strip the parts for other bikes. Frame is too small for me (57cm): PH501Note the lug-less frame and chrome fork. Look familiar? Made from double-butted Reynolds 501 w/ 501 fork and sealed bottom bracket 1987 Model. Here's some Catalog pages. Note the white components: VentouxInternal BrazingIf it were my size, I'd be tempted to repaint it and put Viscount decals on it!

I can recall rumours that some Viscount frames were made in France. That's quite a good all up weight for a 501 framed bike. If I were you,I'd keep it as a Peugeot, originality etc. There are probably a lot of the same model out there,so,even if it's too small for you, pass it on to a marque fan.I think the more expert Lambert/Viscount fans would spot a rebadged bike. Peugeot themselves weren't above a bit of rebranding other peoples products.I have a Vitus 979 bike branded as a Peugeot!

I was kidding about the repaint.... Someone will snap it up as a "fixie" The parts are already on ebay or re-purposed on one of my bikes.... most going to a '90 LOOK carbon frame I found on ebay. Although if someone were looking for a chrome fork for a Lambert / Viscount that might be just the ticket and likely lighter and better than the "death fork" replacements that Yamaha provided.
Cheers

Peugeot is soon to be gone.... traded for an '89 Trek 660 frame in my size. DB True Temper Team
And now the big question.... keep it or "flip" it? I have my Viscount ASP winter project and a '90 LOOK carbon fibre frame and now the Trek.
The Viscount is a keeper.... trying to decide what to do with other two.
