This is on eBay at moment and is too far away for me, but I'd guess it can't fetch too much in this state. I feel a little guilty in that all I can see is a great saddle and seat post, some mudguards and a very interesting home made, but possibly un-aerodynamic bottle rack on the front light fitting

I think it could be a good bike with a bit of work. Unfortunately that red colour (like one I have) seems very prone to fade and doesn't look very good when it has faded. Those bars would have to go.

My sport is red and doesn't seem to have suffered fade.I have to admit, the quoted sport looks to be the rustiest viscount I've ever seen! Is he doing skip clearance? I don't think I'd trust that frame after cleaning up.Some parts are salvageable, but a restoration too far? There are a couple of far nicer Viscounts on ebay at the moment that are much more realistic propositions! Good luck to him anyway, better broken for parts(in this instance) than crushed as scrap metal. Cheers, Pete.

My Sport has various shades of red.
I guess it was languishing in the arc of the sun, inside a shed with a widow, for many years.

I've been considering alternative uses for the lamp bracket fitting on my Sport and thought this bottle rack idea was quite a good one...briefly! I would guess that a full water bottle would be noticeable on handling when positioned there? Not enough to really put you off, but enough for you to feel it. I've ridden with front panniers and even with just a few clothes in, balanced on both sides, I can't say I enjoy the experience. I like the idea of using the lamp fitting for other purposes though.
