Hi all. I'm here because I read an article in the latest V-CC Magazine (News & Views) & read a letter from Rona Wightman.... Good on you Rona. My first proper light-weight circa 2006, was a nice Viscount & so I will always have an affection for them. It's about time there was a dedicated Viscount site/forum/gathering point. Viscounts are much under-rated in my opinion & deserve their own space online. Plenty of room & enthusiasm for a dedicated Viscount Club I'm certain, similar to Moulton perhaps..... Anyway, here & now I simply upload a couple of pics of my two examples. Both moved on, (as I have) but I'm looking for a suitable 'case for treatment' currently. There is a lot of interest in these bicycles & it's good to see some evidence of that online; ) <img style="max-width:100%;" alt="" src=" "> I have many pics of these two machines & did some research also when I found very little online. Some were made in Italy for example! I have a Simoncini, & the main man there tells me they built for Viscount, as well as other European 'names' during the same period. So they were not all built in UK..... Keep up the good work: ) JF

Hi! Very interested to read this post. We have seen some Viscount with on 'Made in Italy' them, but I had not heard who/where they were manufactured. So, they were made built for Viscount by Simoncini.. It has also been noted that some Viscount frames were built in Spain and then later, in Taiwan.
Can I ask, what is that rear derailleur in the top pic of the Aerospace?

Looks like it could be a Deore XT (M700) to my eye untrained eye.

OK you all. Do check the V-CC links because it is good for all. (Fascinating stuff if you not familiar with it) Thanks to sooper8; ) I was trying my best there! If you want News & Views connections just ask: ) You need to go to veterancycleclublibrary.org.uk/ and look: ) I'm just checking out the interest on this site. I'm a proper fan & will do all in my power to assist all here. Happy cycling all: )

Thanks for that Stoatie: ) I don't know exactly what happened with my previous efforts, but it didn't work then for me!! Both my Viscounts had mid range contemporary Shimano components originally, so they were blessed in that respect I say. Got a link here for the info on Simoncini building for other makers at that time. www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=184993&start=80Scroll down the page a little. My user name on there is Viscount! (I didn't even try that user name on here: ) Couple of my Simoncinis in that thread, which seems to go on & on.... Emanuel Ferretti is the Revanche/Simoncini main man. (Very cool & approachable, with better English than mine) Good Viscounts seem to me to be quite cheap nowadays (thanks to the Death Forks Syndrome; ) but it will not last long I believe.... Get one while you can, is my advice. You won't regret it: ) I got lots more pics of my two if there is interest on here. Check this one for a start: Looks quite innocuous here, with a Viscount, restored Dawes Galaxy & a lovely old Rudge. (With the borrowed Galaxy red pump...) All my bikes... Friends arrive & we go out for a ride: ) We were out in Gloucester City for a jaunt together on a sunny, summers day, & found a place to sit down & have a rest, refreshment, on a low wall on the other side of the road. When you check the road sign you will get the situation..... Maybe.... Check this for illumination if you don't: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_WestIt's either 'interesting', or not! Weird, but interesting I'd say; ) John. PS No preview here either.... So I click 'create post' & see!

The house was demolished as you say, and we were sat on the low wall of the Adventist church next to where the house was. It is now a footpath access to a car park. John.
