Well Jem,it,s the same configuration as my SE (identified by Steve),some pics on my flickr site. The ebay frame is a nice size for someone like me,been watching it for a while.Wont be bidding as I could really do with getting into n-several at the moment. Cheers, Pete.

My guess is that the decal has slipped round - too close to a radiator perhaps, or too many rubs from a leg whilst pedalling.
You're right to suspect a potential Victor frame though, as these had the lugged head tube, with the rest of the frame fillet-brazed.

That gumtree bike will clean up well.It always amazes me that when folk are trying to sell something, they don't give it a bit of a clean first. Go for it,the bits alone are worth the asking price. Cheers, Pete.

Just had another look at the pics.It would seem to have a conventional bottom bracket fitted. So,Aerospace frame with butted head tube, ordinary bottom bracket, unless it,s been converted. Should narrow things down a bit. I await with interest for a report if you go to look at it Jem. Cheers, Pete.

Gumtree bike looks good. I like the colour - unusual for a Viscount? Should clean up well, as Pete says. A good buy for someone ...
