I have been in Italy for a week and just arrived home but want to share with you all my new purchase...1985 Wilier Triestina...here's a link to a few photo's. www.flickr.com/photos/124853585@N02/sets/72157646800375132/The bike is still in Italy and I will be picking it up later in the year, when I return by car. My brother has a similar model known as Gioiello Ramato, Copper Jewel, which he rode L'Eroica on with my VA Sport, but we have never seen a 'green' version, the story goes that for every so many Copper frames built, a green one was made. Not sure of this as I have not managed to find any info to back it up. The Wilier is fully pantographed, is fitted with Campagnolo components except front wheel hub, brake levers & not sure if rims are original.

Oh man that's a beauty!
I saw this pop up on your Flickr thread the other day and commented. You didn't reply so I just assumed it wasn't your bike and you were just admiring it!
It got me searching for that name as I had never heard of it and then I posted a thread and it provoked a discussion about buying bikes from abroad, which eventually led to a Dutch second hand selling site.
I love the colour and the copper one is pretty special too. In my internet wandering I did read how they got that great sheen on the paint job but can't recall the process in any detail now.
That is pretty special! Did you need to sell a kidney to fund it?
I would have left my suit case in Italy and had that posted on, then taken the bike there and then.
So, anyway, tell us the story of the acquisition and whens and whys!!!!

Lovely bike...nice to taste all the flavors besides Viscount. I'd only seen Wiliers In the carbon fiber tri mode and didn't know their "classic" side. Enjoy it

Is this the equivalent to a Ferrari? Certainly looks a cool bike. Will it ride like a Viscount?
