Looking for some help identifying this piece, and where it goes. I'm rebuilding a Viscount GP. This piece originates from the headset. Where it fell from, or what it is, has me baffled. Sorry, I used an American penny for size reference and then realized where I was posting my question. The diameter of the piece is approximately the thickness of an average finger. Anyone have a clue? Attachments:

Hi,could you say where in the dismantling sequence this fell off?It looks like the top ball race retainer from your photos. Is there a screw thread in the centre (center) your side.I always get confused with spelling checks 'cos google tends to default to your spelling. You just need to replace it with a standard 1" screwed headset.I can recommend Stronglight A9 or Tange. Good luck with the restoration, and remember,we all love PICCIES!!!! Cheers, Pete.

No, there are no threads, inside or outside. It's part of the exchange fork from Yamaha, can't remember where in the process it fell out, certainly nothing that caught my attention. I've put everything back together, non-greased, and it all works fine. I was hoping it would be something obvious.
