What were the frame sizes of the Viscount GP. I bought my 2nd Viscount from a friend 38 years ago (I new it was a little big for me back then at 5'11"ft tall) and now I find out it's too big for me. Now that I'm 68 I've shrunk an inch and a half in height since I rode last. My GP is a 24" and I'm 5'9.5" and an inseam of 32. What size should I be using? I know it's a dumb question but I need to know. There are some Viscounts on craigslist and maybe I could sell mine and get the right size. Most of the sizing charts put me in a 21 or 22" frame?

Sounds like me. I also started at 5'11" on the 24 1/2" (c-t) but shrunk to 5'10" and ride a 23 1/2", but my inseam is 33". I think you'd be OK on the 22 1/2" if the saddle to handlebar drop isn't too severe (less than 1 1/2"). It looks like a lot of guys on the forum ride bigger frames with little to no seat post showing but a more upright position may be more comfortable for our older gents. One very good rule of thumb is that the inner length of the head tube should be about the same length as the exposed seat post.

If I try to ride this 24, what problems will I have?

As long as you can drop the seat post down low enough, you'll be ok. You can always go to a shorter stem if the reach is too long. I still ride my 24 1/2" with about an inch and change of the seat post showing. Take a look how little seat post shows on veocipete's (Pete) new Vitus. www.flickr.com/photos/63986899@N07
