I love my merino base layer. Wear it under various tops in all but the hottest weather. Never gets cold and clammy with sweat.

What about this one? www.juracycleclothing.co.uk/personalised-customisedThey were at Eroica in Bakewell. Short sleeve is £80 as per, don't know how much personalisation would be. Any of the blue and red styles would look great with Viscount in the font emblazoned across.

In case you guys decide to go acrylic, here's the info on how to order again. I did a red and a blue with different logos. If you like a looser fit, order a size up. I get nothing out of it except the satisfaction of furthering the cause. I've worn them quite a bit and they look as new as the day I got them. Your Design ID : 1P73MMJ86PJT6T23JQ9 *NOTE : When you input the Design ID correctly at the order page , your design image will be shown. OK , The below are the order pages. Many thanks for that link & explanation Triitout. We appreciate your effort setting that pattern up and it will save time for those who buy. And a reasonable price too ! Although I'm a Merino wool man , I do also have acrylic and would happily wear one of these. I'm not sure why I couldn't get any joy earlier in the year on this site ?( it could have been my old MacBook and Safari making it harder than it needed to be?)

I think the problem on your last go at it was that eclipsecycling.com where I designed them and placed my order can't handle orders from friends. That's all done on their secondary site, www.purplemooncustom.com. Less confusing now I hope. If anyone wants to have a go at their own colors and alternative designs with their templates, I can send the logo art work. Do that at www.eclipsecycling.com

The entries for this are open next month, but as yet, on their web site it doesn't say anything about entry fee for individuals versus teams. If people want to make up a 'team Viscount', maybe we need to discuss it? I am all for that but personally I feel it has to be worthwhile otherwise what is the point? (so, the cost is a factor for me) I would also be on for a DFR3 ride in some capacity too but realise that it will be dependent on others fitting in around this.

Well Jem,I'm for DFR2,and a possible visit to Bakewell to enjoy the festival. At the moment I don't think I'll be up for a long, hilly ride. Can't even get the old leg over(wait for it) the cross bar at the moment! Managed a couple of miles on the old Moulton the other day,but it looks like the weather will be curtailing any further efforts next week. If the two events are to be close together, timewise,I now know how to put my tent up! Not having to worry about work schedules,I should be able to fit in,as long as it doesn't clash with my soap box racing weekend. cheers, Pete.

Sadly, I think the Eroica clashes with plans the wife has for 3 weeks holiday in France.

Sorry to read you're not 100% Pete. I saw you mention it on another thread & intended to ask what you'd done & how long you'd be laid up? So Kev....you might miss our rally highlights but I suppose that means you are there during Le Tour, so you'll have something to get excited about!

My problem started with a shoe, cat food, vynal floor interface.Three days in hospital, now nearly 5 weeks later, still having to use a stick and take pain killers.Must put a tennis racket holder on the Moulton.I've missed all the wonderful Indian summer, cyclingwise,so am just a tad fed up.That's what happens when you look after other peoples animals while they're on holiday.I miss the dog though! Thanks for asking anyway.Got a bit of catching up to do for next year. Cheers, Pete.

Found this picture, Tony Doyle sporting Viscount Team colours back in 1982 in Girvan Scotland. Just realised that this picture in Girvan would be one of the meetings where Graeme Obree watched Len Malvern work on the Viscount team's bikes that Tony Doyle was riding ( see the Graeme Obree/Viscount post here)

Ok. Gian, one of the Eroica organisers has mailed to say that booking for next years Eroica Britannia event will be simpler than last year in that it will be the same price for an individual within a team , or on their own. You pay in November when bookings go live ( and good news is, price is reduced from last year ) , then you can link your name to a team. In effect just giving the kudos and 'feel good' of being in a team. Camp site bookings are separate from the above. Sounds good & if you intend to go then go over to the site & get on the mailing list.

Signed up for the news letters etc.A question for those who rode last year. How picky were they about the equipment fitted to a bike? Obviously no ergo or sti shifters, but it's lower gearing and better brakes that interest me.Using same era components not fitted to the bikes as new,but upgrades, would they be ok? Cheers, Pete.

Pete, last year I was expecting the L'Eroica police to be all over each bike as the rules read rather strongly on what was/wasn't allowed, but this was not the case. I did not experience anyone checking bikes over at all, over the weekend. My own opinion it was more about getting into and enjoying the spirit of 'vintage', the bike, the clothing, the music & entertainment. On the short route I think I read that bike rules were less stringent.

Thanks Scott. It would be the 30 mile ride I'd be doing, and even there, low gears will be required(by me).As much as I appreciate originality,I'd be surprised if anyone, bar Steve of course, could say definitely that a certain part wasn't fitted at the factory! Most of my bikes, over many years, have always been upgraded, as and when I could afford to do so,a bit like"trigger's broom" really. Just need to get myself modified to be able to ride proper bikes again soon. Cheers, Pete.

I'll out trump you on that.I now have a fawn "Green spot" cycling jacket from yonks ago. Definitely eligible. Now looking out for some replacement Hebden Cord shorts to replace the ones despoiled by bovine exhaust at DFR2! Cheers, Pete.

Are you compelled to wear helmet for Eroica?

Jem,as the whole ethos is pre 1987,I wouldn't think they would try to enforce that! It should be deemed to be a "not in period" accessory, unless you were riding a track bike, and then it should be the old leather style. Cheers, Pete.

I'm obviously very game to join Team Viscount at L'Eroica although getting time off and the money together could be tricky. I've also been fairly trepidatious re the vintage police but figure I'd do an Obree and just remove the offending article and ride off ?

I like the phrase "doing an Obree", I am going to try and shoehorn that into a meeting at work tomorrow and see what reaction I get (bearing in mind that none of my colleagues are are bike minded sorts) Could be a laugh...

Lewis, you wont have any trouble at all.As I recall, you will be riding far more quickly than the Vintage police on their Raleigh Superbs! Scuffers bikes,as they were known in my youth. If you should chance to look over your shoulder on your get a way ride, you may just glimpse yours truelly wheel sucking to avoid them as well! Cheers, Pete.

Re the team uniform discussion there's always the Cutters style T-shirt, short shorts, and tennis sock option?!
