If you are signed up for email alerts on this you will know that the new booking system is taking a bit of time to get right before they 'go live' with it.
It could even be as late as January before you can book on.
To get email alerts just go to the site and give them your email. You don't get any advertising or spam , just information now and then.

A few random thoughts about this ..... It seems a really nice idea The entry fee &/or the distance would mean it wouldn't be for all DF rallyers The date, like this year, might be close to a likely DFR3 date. This could make it difficult for people to do both. Would this risk depleting attendance at DFR3? Is there anything to stop us organising DFR3 as an unofficial part of the Eroica cycling festival, on a different day to the main event? Might depend on the L'Eroica location. What do you think??? Sorry for being late to the party, but just wanted to say that I'm up for that, too. I really don't want to spend that much money just to take part in a fun ride. The DFR is way more important to me as I'll be catching up with you lot.

I though tthere already was a jersey available . and Stella has one in red . Yep, all kindly organised by Michael. I think we could make that happen if we order them through that website.

Maybe it's the right time now to ask....What is the majority opinion on keeping DFR3 separate and unique, or joining it with Eroica? Or a bit of both? I suppose I could use the 'poll' function on this web site/forum? Or just chip in with thoughts here

If we combine it, then at least I'd have a solid weekend date request I can hand in now. By the sounds of it, it clashes with your holiday plans, and I'm not happy about that as a DFR without Jem wouldn't be a DFR to me. Same goes for everyone who was there last time. So we need to find a date that suits us all.

I'd like to go to DFR but am away during Eroica.

I've just had an email through from Eroica saying tickets are on sale. So they want £60 for the ride + another £60 for the weekends camping and £15 for the privilege of parking your car.
Separate DFR3 for me as I'm certainly not attending this cash cow.

If the date is up for renegotiation, I can't make it 13th June to 6th July. Hopefully should be good otherwise.

That is quite a lay out for a bike ride admittedly - however, I thought the same last year and then after turning up for the 'day festival' , really regretted not doing the ride.
£60 for the 3 nights camping isn't excessive for me in my van if there is electric hook up, and I wouldn't then need to pay to park either.
I'd be interested in knowing what those who did it last year think about it.
I speak for myself in saying that if I went to Eroica, I'd still be up for DFR3, as it costs very little. There's room for both.
I'd be open to DFR3 dates but am busy last week of July.

Price does seem a bit on the excessive side, but after the glowing reputation Eroica Britannia gained after only one event, perhaps the high price is to keep numbers down.
Need to think awhile more.
Separate DFR3 for me - perhaps we should try late July/early August and see if we get any more interest?

I seem to remember hearing that they didn't really make any money from the event last year, and realistically to keep going they needed to up the prices. That combined with supply and demand seem to have set the price. They will be oversubscribed even at that price I guess.
By the way- I'm signed up for emails, but haven't had anything from them yet. Are you on the VIP priority list Stotie?
If we can set a DFR3 date late July/early Aug then I am always up for that!

L'Eroica booked, I will be there for the 3 days. Very disappointed with the pricing compared to last year, but last year, were we taking liberties, free camping, free parking. I think the camping price is high along with the £10 festival ticket. Parking £15.00, I have paid more than that on days out. In my own opinion I would have kept the festival entry free and used it as a USP. Are they going to charge people visiting the festival on the day?
btw Alamo sold £40.00.

I was signed up for emails and had a few last year, but got nothing for this.
Just been on the site and campervan spaces have sold out, so I'm a bit p****d off.

I seem to have dropped out of their emails. Have not really done anything about signing up. Last year was great value, £90 for three nights camping, the festival and the ride complete with grub and goody bag. But I feel this year it will all be a bit more commercial and full of 'fashionable' types. Might go or might not, always assuming there are any tickets left. Prefer if DFR is a separate event, too complex to try and combine the two I think.

Now that details are known, is there enough interest to form a 'team'?
If so, would we all ride the same route/distance, and if so, which?

Have just bitten the bullet and signed up for Eroica, on the 50-mile route.
For those who might not have had notification, they've e-mailed 'subscribers' and last year's participants at 4-45 pm today to say that rider numbers are up on last year, and that next week tickets will be released to the public via social media channels, sponsors, etc.
I've also created 'Team Viscount', although I may be the only member if no-one else is willing to fork out!!
Joining 'Team Viscount' will require a PIN, which I have, or I can invite you to join by submitting your e-mail address to the bods at Eroica.
PM me if you want the PIN or send me an e-mail address which I can forward to them and they'll invite you to join.
I'll check on here at regular intervals over this weekend, 'cos it sounds like it'll be a free-for-all on Monday and beyond.

I am booked for the 100mile, which I will be riding again with my Derbyshire pal, this time with his teenage daughter too. So I am already in a 'team', but will hope to see fellow Viscount enthusiasts at the event.

Booked for this , who is going. have we a team name. Help! At the moment we have Stoatie, Sprockit, Scott and myself Sooper8 -so all the members beginning with an 'S' - If you pm Sprockit he has a PIN number for Team Viscount. You go to the 'team entries' section and follow instructions. I did it so it can't be too tricky. And Pete is possibly up for the weekend festival. RMW is also attending but riding with some friends. So, there will be a few of us about that weekend. Other than that, I am not sure if anyone else has signed up?

What is to stop anyone from just joining the rides en-route? Ok you wouldn't get the "freebees",but you'd still do the ride. I'm sure the whole thing takes lots of organising, but, peronally,I'd rather ride the routes when they're not so crowded, and I'm not dazzled by lurid lycra,or risk the danger of running into Team Skye wannabies who disappear in shadow! Anyone wearing all black kit on a bike is asking for it! Cheers, Pete.

Anyone wearing all black kit on a bike is asking for it! Cheers, Pete. I hear what you are saying Pete. Last year when it was announced, I thought 'yeah maybe I'll do that'. Then I saw the price and thought "why would I pay to ride my bike on roads that I could ride anytime, bloody ridiculous". Then I went to the festival itself and loved it, great atmosphere. So, I decided at that point that if it came back to Bakewell I would do it this year and make a weekend of it staying in the van and do the ride. Hence , I booked on this years. I don't think they'll be much lycra - well, not on me anyway. However, with the rising prices and a cost just to wander around festival site (last year that was free), I hope it doesn't go elitist and lose the genuine feel it had.
