My dad passed away in his sleep last night after 1 1/2 months of illness. During that crazy time I found great comfort reading and posting about DFR2 and all things Viscount. You guys are to be thanked just for being there on this wonderful forum

Triitout - really sorry to hear of the loss of your father.
I guess sometimes the world continuing on, and daft old English blokes talking about bikes is just what we want at times when other things are too much. There is a comfort and familiarity in the everyday things such as bikes.
You also know that if ever you make it over here, you will be welcomed with open arms like a long lost brother!!

Seconded there. My parents shuffled off with only 6 weeks between them. They never were apart except for 5 years of WW2! I felt as if I was on a bungee cord to the crem. Glad our bletherings have been of help.Pushing the pedals helps enormously. Condolences, Pete.

Thank you Jem, Raymondo, and Pete for allowing me be in this band of brothers (and sisters with Stella of course). Yes, BSing with old English blokes about our Viscounts is just what the doctor ordered. Anyone making it over to NY will likewise be treated with open arms.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I said it just recently to someone else: unfortunately, as you're getting older, the chances of losing a loved one are getting higher, too. Still, doesn't make it any easier. Good to hear our Viscount adventures and talks have helped a bit to take your mind off things.

We just finished up tonight with what we call a "shiva" gathering to celebrate my dad's life and accomplishments. He was a 3 time NYC Marathon finisher, the last time at 80 years old in 2003. He had a great run. Tons of guests paying their respects and tons of food. Too bad you guys aren't in the neighborhood. We would have fed you well and you would have enjoyed the shock on their faces when the guests (all non cyclists) saw the herd of Viscounts and had to listen to my rantings about our forum, DFR, and of course the Viscount story. It's time to get back in the saddle and ride again.
