Well, not a bad kit of parts. Looks as though some of the paint has been taken off with an angle grinder - very rough. And I'd be a bit worried about the RD hanger, which needs closing up. (Although I managed something similar on my old Aerospace when the RD went into the wheel.) Also the fact that the tubes have been 'cut and filed back' inside the BB shell might be worrying. Obviously an Aerospace frame - the fact that it had lugs on the seat tube suggests earlier rather than later, since Viscount went over to a separate clip.

I must admit Stella, I saw some potential in it and thought it would be worth a low bid just to see what happens. Also, it would be easier to post than a full bike. Those wheels might have my name on it for my 'Pro project

I could fix the dropouts easily, but it's also been opened up to fit a 130/135 wheel. What I find worrying is that the frame was butchered. Ground off lugs, uh! You can grind off the tubes that stick out of the BB shell, but one needs to make sure that it's not affecting the fillet brazing or it'll end in tears.

Even the wheels have odd hubs! Watching it to get his hopes up and general badness. God help his other projects if this is an example of his skills! Cheers, Pete. PS,We can't save 'em all Stella. P.

If anyone of you guys gets it, I'd be interested in the handlebars. Although they look a bit rank. Can't determine if they're showing signs of wear or if it's just the old handlebar tape.
Personally, I wouldn't be interested in the wheels.

No, I didn't bid. I just didn't want the hassle of arranging to have it delivered etc But , if it were nearer, I'd have to have been in for £2.50 at least Note - this is the bike/auction that we want everyone to look at when they get crazy notions of rusty old Viscount being worth £300! It really is a difficult market to predict.

Agree on the difficulties to predict. Lucky for us. :-)

In fact. I'd have paid 99p for the 'V' bolt from handlebar stem. Might even have been one in seat stem?

Does anyone know if those original stems with the V-bolt came in different sizes? Mine have always been 100mm.
