Here's a model that many of us have seen before and speculated over regarding the frame The seller mentions that they are 'team prototypes' and I had a couple of messages with him , and he gave me the following info which he got from the LBS when purchasing , and it is very interesting. From the seller "They have Viscount embossed into the rear stays. The red bike frame, 63cm, was purchased in 1983/4 from Chris Grange Cycles Bishops Stortford. The story was that it was a works racing frame that was a test bike, no proper serial number(13) with a steep geometry. Some specials with Viscount in the stay were built as specials in Italy, either as a prototype or for the race team, this seemed to confirm the information I was given when I brought it 40 years ago.If the red one is a prototype it is likely for the 600EX model. "here is the bike for sale on eBay UK www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135001024804?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=9a29bff72fd347099bf512b884605461&bu=43161555342&osub=-1%7E1&crd=20240417070733&segname=11051

I had a green viscount 600ex once with viscount embossed on the stays. It had campagnolo gran sport parts and no stickers. I wonder if that’s just a coincidence.

I just had a closer look at the listing. This is exactly like what I had but in green. Even the size is the same. I just assumed the bike had been messed about with rather than being anything special. I still have all the campag parts as I put the bike back to 600ex stock and a guy I knew bought it off me.

Hi Siegeworks - good to see you back! I thought of you the other day when a new member offered to recreate the 'Death Form ' stickers, which I think you originally designed and made?
Yes, in terms of that eBay bike , when put together with yours and the back-story the seller provides, they seem to be part of the puzzle that might be leading to answer? There was another one like yours on this forum too, but I cant recall who posted or where it is.

I sort of feel bad that I took it to bits and rebuilt it as something else now. I didn’t know what I was looking at. I thought I’d just stumbled on a parts bike with some valuable bits on. You live and learn I guess.
I didn’t do the death fork stickers although my lack of stickers for the ex600 did lead me to draw out all stickers for it. The guy that bought it off me didn’t actually want any stickers in the end so I never did anything with the artwork. I should post it up here really in case anyone needs it.

There's another listed with Campy GS parts ... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135022256541This has a 5 digit serial, 76164, but a similar lugged frame with VISCOUNT embossed vertically on the upper seat stay. This one's not all Campy either; I see SR pedals, Ofmega Mundial cranks, Simano Tourney brakes & AR front derailleur. The rear dropouts are Suntour GS, and the downtube has a sticker/decal saying "GOODFELLOW" ...
