I needed another bike like a hole in the head but this one was $30 and a mile from my house. Here is the seller's photo.
The paint is an unusual color and in good condition. There are a few interesting accessories like the original Primus frame pump and a Rhode Gear mirror that fits over the brake hood. I have completely broken it down to parts and will decide on what to build after the parts are refurbished. The 23" frame/fork combo is very heavy - 3916 grams, even heavier than a 1974 Schwinn Le Tour I once refurbished. Nature was no match for this bike. Hundreds of millions of years of evolution and you end up inside a bottom bracket with your head broken off.

I think I would struggle to turn down that bike at that price , and only a mile away. I agree that the 'extras' sometimes have real appeal when deciding to buy a used bike. That rear rack is a spring loaded 'Pletscher'? Always come in handy. Did you have to pay extra for the wasp, or was it included in the price?

I should start a collection of things I have found inside bottom bracket shells - insects, acorns, rodent feces, fur, scraps of paper. It would be like one of those jars you see at tire stores.

Brian, there are some Art Galleries here that would probably make an exhibition out of those items.

Most questionable thing I found was probably the green spongy carpet padding stuffed in all the frame tubes exiting the bottom bracket on my Viscount pseudo-Supa. The only thing I could think of was it was there to block the corrosive playing fluids. I guess it worked as the tubes looked pretty clean in there. Best, John “wheelson”

You got the Cannondale bag thrown in too? (is it a fixed bar bag or rear pannier?)

If you love bikes, it is hard to turn down an orphan. Of course, the parts alone are worth much more than $30. Nevertheless, I tend to try to save old bikes, instead of parting them out; pure madness of course.
Looking at your pictures, with a cleanup, your bike will look nearly new; great find.

I am planning to put it back together stock and see if I can sell it for the actual cash I put into it, probably less than $100 including the bike. If I could do that on a predictable basis this hobby would be more fun because I wouldn't have to look at an ever-increasing fleet of bikes. There are about three more bikes nearby for under $50 that would be rewarding to recondition.
SOLD:
Here's 1972 Raleigh Super Course 15 miles away for $40. I already have an identical one:
Here is a 1983 Fuji del Rey 10 miles away for $40. I also have an identical one of these except built into a three-speed:
Here is a 1973 Sekine SHT Medialle for $50. It is 100 miles away in a nice part of the state for a day trip. I have the identical bike except mine is blue (and has tires).
I would show a photo of the inside of my garage but I can't squeeze in to take the pic.
