It's for a smaller person than me unfortunately - but a great jersey and NOS ebay link here

KP Crisps, the breakfast of champions, surpassed only by the "Coke & Donut" training regimen.

KP Crisps, the breakfast of champions, surpassed only by the "Coke & Donut" training regimen. Brian I have only seen KP Crisps on television, the show Top Gear to be exact. I visited the KP Crisp website and as I suspected, our British cousins are fed very similar "healthy" snack food to what we get from Fritolay on this side of the pond. I admit to loving Pepper Bellies (Fritos smothered in chili, cheese, peppers and onions). A great camping comfort dish, I haven't had this tasty repast in years; perhaps I would, if I still rode long bike tours.
Cheers Jim

At £89 asking price, fortunately too small for me too. Although the seller is prepared to consider offers. In the UK, KP is mainly known as a leading brand for salted and dry-roasted peanuts, still current. KP Crisps were not a well-known brand and I don't think they are around now. Perhaps the tie-in with Viscount was part of a launch campaign? See www.kpsnacks.com/our-brands/

Checking up to see if this top was still on eBay (it is), I saw this one, located in Hershey (!) Pennsylvania. Still seems a bit pricey at $72, but a US buyer not having to pay transatlantic postage, might find it reasonable. Doesn't look like a factory team product, but quite nice: "“Viscount” advertising on front. Has back pockets. Tag reads "Jones Cyclewear". Yamaha advertising on back neck. Aerospace Cycles advertising on both sleeves. Cyclist name "Brian Ober" on reverse. Approx a Men's US M or L. Approx 18" from armpit to armpit across the chest and 27" from back collar to bottom hem. Neat patch "National Century - L.A.W. Sept 1978". Nice graphics. No rips, holes."

Jones Cyclewear! If I am not mistaken, they were located in Fitchburg, Mass. I bought my first pair of merino wool cycling shorts from them in about 1981 and they lasted at least 10 years. I went to their "factory" and it turned out to be a one-person operation run out of an old house in Fitchburg. Jim, you might be able to add credence to this from your Bicycling Magazine collection. They always placed a small ad near the back of the mag. I would say 1980-1983 for sure. Brian

As for jerseys for sale, I found this ad and (maybe same but different price) this ad on eBay. Sadly, both are too small for this old man.
Cheers Jim

Unbelievable. Thanks, Jim. It is Lunenburg, MA, not Fitchburg. They are a few miles apart. The house doesn't look as I remember, but I suppose in 40+ years there may have been some remodeling. Here is the Jones Cyclewear headquarters and sewing nook:

I guess "no rips, holes" means there are no rips but there are holes, as there seem to be a couple of holes where clothes moths have been busy.
