like so many, too young; at least from the perspective of a 72 year old.

Just picked up this news via the GCN App. Very sad. As Jim says, 64 is too young to die - A few years ago, one of my colleagues died of pancreatic cancer shortly after his retirement at 65, and only 2 days ago I was attending the funeral of another colleague who died at the same age. I guess that like Jim, I should feel fortunate that I too have made it past 70.

Such a shame, a great ambassador for Viscount. I was at a campsite earlier in the week that was run by one of his old training partners ( Ray Hughes: a bit of a legend in the timetrial scene ). He told me he has a number of his old Viscount jerseys at home, he was size large apparently.

I’ve already asked that one Jem. I said I’d be happy to pay for any jerseys that mention Viscount. He didn’t really respond ( he had yet to attend the funeral ), so I didn’t push it. I’m back there in August and will give it another go.

It would even to get photos of the jerseys to leave open the possibility of having some made up. Best, John “wheelson”
