Looks like a nice one and only 100 miles away so I could theoretically pick it up for $15 in gas. Might be interesting to put in a low ball bid but I probably won't.

I would watch the auction end; biding might be very low. I agree, bidding will be thin. The shipping cost pretty much limits the pool to Connecticut and nearby. I just messaged the seller to see if pickup is an option.

(actually the whoke bike would be nice, but the shipping to the UK would be terrible).
This one looks pretty much all original to me ... so with a bit of TLC could go like the wind again.

I'm only 40 miles away, but my garage is full! I'm 100 miles away and my garage is full as well and the frame size is a bit small. I think I'll have to skip this one. The seller did OK free local pickup but cannot change the shipping options on the listing so we would have to "figure it out afterward."

I have conflicting thoughts about that ending price.
Part of me just loves the fact that a high quality, lightweight retro racing bike can still be had for pocket money prices. Then the other half of me is outraged that it is so underpriced and undervalued by the modern world of bike people.
But ultimately I am coming down on the 'pleased' side, as I know that if I had all my bikes stolen or lost in a fire, and then lost all my money, then I would never be many days away from buying a classic Viscount, that would cheer me up no end.

Haha! I'd not noticed. Maybe that should be changed to 'too much time on his hands on bike forums type guy'? I'm rather embarrassed now. I'll have a word with Admin to change the member descriptors and get myself a bit more back down to earth I think |
