Hi Folks,
I am selling my Viscount. Measurement from middle of crank to top of seat stem is 22.5" which is about 57cm. I bought this about 15 years ago as a 'barn find' and unfortunately the frame paint was beyond saving so stripped it and had it powder coated in green. I was never sure exactly what model this was as the parts on it were mostly replacement, rusted out parts but from what we could tell we thought it was an Aerospace. I rebuilt it using parts that I could find or buy. As you will see it has a Shimano 600 short throw rear mech and shifters and a Shimano 600 front mech and although the labels have come off I believe the brakes are Weinmann centre pulls. I modded the bike to use handlebar shifters but it can obviously be converted back quite easily.
It has new sealed (RS) wheel bearings and fairly new bottom bracket bearings (RS). Hopefully it will be apparent that the transfers are not original. As the frame was repainted I decided to buy transfers on ebay in the Spirit of Viscount but not trying to copy any specific original model. The forks are a bit pitted and are not the 'death forks'. The frame has a few rubs here and there and has rubbed to metal on the rear inner stay. The rear wheel spindle is tatty and the spacing not great so would require some attention. Maybe a wheel re-dishing? Or at least someone with a better clue than me!
I would class the bike as ridable and it could be a project for someone or certainly useful for spares.
My thoughts were to sell it on ebay but I would sooner it went to a good home. I live in Somerset and would prefer local collection but I do have a bike box so could potentially ship it within the mainland UK. I think this is probably about £30-£40 to ship.
I think £70 excl shipping might be a reasonable price. If anyone were interested or had a feel for what model this may have been originally then let me know.
