I am having a big clear-out of my loft , selling lots of my old vinyl and books, and the early Spring cleaning fever has extended to the shed, shed 2 and overspill area.
So, if anyone wants to buy a 23"-ish Viscount Indy 500 , complete except wheels (which were steel anyway, and not very nice).
And the Deore 18Ax that I converted to a pub bike. I will find pictures later.
Negotiable on price , but really can't face boxing up and posting a bike out.

As always I’ll have a gander Jem. I feel cluttered up myself with them and don’t need anymore but I’ve got some storage space...

Cheers Franco- No great rush, have a look when you have chance and see what you think. You might see something in the big box of bits that might hep your other projects too?

Jem, I'd like to stop by as well but I've got this dam ocean in the way along with all those travel restrictions and a new boss at work so I guess it's not gonna work out this time.

Haha, well, another time maybe... You'd need a generous baggage allowance too. That’s the bittersweet part of the worldwide membership of the board. I love how it brings us likeminded bike people together, but that distance sure can be a stumbling block when something is across the pond but sadly sometimes just out of reach. Thanks to all the list members who have gone the extra mile for me, both in advice and “hardware”. Best, John “wheelson”

John- postage back and forth between UK and US has risen substantially in the last 10 years or so. There was a time when it was an acceptable level in my eyes, but not now. Such a pity.

I am on a big tidy up and I have been in the loft for a few days. I am selling literally 100's of LP's and 100's of singles. But, I still have a record player and decided that I would cut back to just a handful of LP's to keep, and leave them beside my record deck. But they had to be 'essential' albums and ones that I would play, not just admire or have sentimental attachment to. So here's the long list below, problem is, I don't think I can chop it back any more than this. And I have another 2 dozen 'essentials' that I didn't photograph to post up here IMG_6043 by IMG_6035 by IMG_6042 by IMG_6045 by IMG_6044 by IMG_6046 by

Agreed, there’s many great albums there. Would cost you a fortune to buy again

Agreed, there’s many great albums there. Would cost you a fortune to buy again Those are just my 'personal stash' of prized ones. I was going to whittle them down further still, but can't do it. These and maybe a 2 dozen more and staying. It feels good having a clear out. Like a nice short haircut. The other 500 or more are good but second division compared to these , I can live without them. Plus, I have my eye on a project I want to do with the cash from the sale and don't think I will live to regret it. The time is right to sell. Vinyl is desirable at the moment. Plus, if the majority have been in the loft for 20 years , then I can't desperately 'need' them. Nobody wants cassettes or CD's though. You can't give them away. Here's the runner ups that should be going to a new home this weekend. 63491847774__D2DBB80F-CCF6-428C-841D-ADE6D0E2EECC by 63491860211__C6C1668C-47AD-43B9-949D-C65F01D03E87 by IMG_6001 by

Same thoughts here, I’d keep them, even if they are boxed up in storage.
I don’t know what you would grade the condition on them Jem but assuming they are A to B grade you’ve got some moneys worth there. Have a look on eBay for examples.

I should have known better than tell a bunch of collectors that I am thinning out a collection, Haha.
I've kept them long enough. Now is the time to sell. I can get cash pretty readily from the sale, and have some projects in mind. It would be different if I weren't keeping the real treasures. But they are fine. If I haven't played it for 20 years , and I can get it on Apple music , then I can live with it. I know it isn't the same, and the quality is sterile on MP3, but it's ok
Thanks for your concern guys. I am of sound mind, honest

By the way - talking about freeing up space and bringing in some cash, I just discovered the smart phone app called Ziffitt, which allows you to scan the isbn bar code on your used books and they tell you the price they will give you. Box them all up, and just write your personalised trading ID number on the box, and they collect within a one hour window next day. Very easy to use , and pays into bank balance or PayPal. Most are only worth somewhere between 30p and £1 or so. But every now and then it scans one that comes back with something like £6. I then check ebay finished listing and find that some of them are going for £25 or more , so I then put them on there. If you had literally 1000's of books as I did in the loft, trust me, it adds up. I now have a rather big pile of books for eBay that are worth between £5-£30. See if you can spot which one of these is worth decent money... IMG_5941 by IMG_5942 by

I haven’t played a CD for around six years and I’ve got boxes full of them.

Not good if you want to be lean and move quickly though

UPDATE - the Indy 500 and Deore pub bike do have wheels on , as you can see in photo. And they are looking quite magnificent when I went to my storage this morning . And I forgot that the Corsair Wayfarer is still in there and for sale. Same sale conditions as the bike parts - anyone who's name I know on here has first picks, and I am sure we could arrive at a mutually convenient price , and a very good discount for bulk buy. Then I'll go to the eBay or Gumtree. See just one picture here and then click through to get on my second league Flickr account for a few more close ups/ They are 22" frames. Apologies for the awful crime of not turning them drive side around for the photos, I just didn't have time today. For the right price I might let the fully original Deore 18AX go too, but I don't want to sell it below market value. And last thing....I really really really dont ever in my life want to package a bike up for shipping, so either be able to drive here or arrange one of those courier services where they wheel the bike away and strap in the back of their van please. Jem, Great looking bikes, I suspect some pain in letting go of these and some other items. I'm in the same boat, having to downsize, me because of just no room and through lack of use of said items. With respect to boxing bikes, I'm with you there, absolutely no fun. I have to do a half dozen or so at the shop and even with all the boxes and the reusable packing materials it's a losing proposition. The sale of your books reminds me of a time a few years back when I dug out several boxes of '70s - '80s bike catalogs. I was amazed at the sale price on eBay, some as high a $20 each. Even more amazing is that some of the same are now selling on eBay for $75. Oh well, a marriage is worth more than that! Best, John "w"

I suppose it helps that I am not being forced against my will, and I have a goal in sight to aim for that I am very keen to do, namely build a cabin/shed/workshop with space for my very select few, and a place to work on projects. It's been fun pairing down to just a few dozen albums, and books and 3 or 4 bikes. Plus, my bedroom ceilings were literally showing signs of many 100'sllbs of stuff in the loft. I had visions of being trapped in my bed by a night-time disaster from my excessive collecting items in the loft falling through. Books are nice and easy to post out too- that always helps.

Jem, just bumping this to say I'm so relieved you decided to hang on to your 'essential' LPs. The kids who've grown up on Spotify are getting into buying 'vinyls' now. It's both hilarious and heartening to see. I've still got all my records and about 10 years ago bought a second-hand Technics SL1200 turntable (known as the classic 'DJ' turntable). One of the best investments I ever made! They're bulletproof. Now when my daughter brings home a Taylor Swift or Harry Styles album on vinyl, she gets blown away by huge and rich they sound!
That pub bike is the blingest pub bike I've ever seen. I always thought a pub bike was one you wouldn't care if it got forgotten or stolen. Yours doesn't meet that criterion...
