Is there any true difference between the Aerospace Pro and the Aerospace G.P.? Other than colors and maybe the DR's?
Is one model "better" than the other?

I think this is a better place to add info on the Viscounts of the thousand series including a junior racer, motocross series, and "exclusive" (and legible!) dealer price of the aerospace models. Also, special for Whippet and Busaste, I obtained the Yamaha factory photo sent to dealers of the Aerospace Sport. All is now legible with model details and additional closeup pics of the V 7000 SS down to the 1000 model now on my Flickr acct. www.flickr.com/photos/98878999@N02/with/16724154448/Cheers, Did I mention, the dealers were making peanuts on these bikes. Its shocking to see invoice vs retail! Can you tell what red is used on the grand sport frame on your flickr. I need to buy some touch up paint for my Sport

Frame has original paint, ruby red i believe. Was fitted with Shimano Tourney GS rear and 50 front derailliers, SR Apex 5 cranks and rings 52/40, SR short stem but no forks any suggestions where i can obtain some suitable forks? How do I add attachments?

Attachments: It appears if you go to "full edit" (REPLY BUTTON), you get the option on the upper right to "Add Attachment", press that button and then you get the option to "add files", proceed to your own images:

Or, upload your photos to a site like Flickr or photobucket then get the copy the image code and paste it into your post/reply and it will show up.

I'd say Aerospace Sport? But others will perhaps be better qualified to say with more certainty

I'd say Sebring but I'm not sure of the component group on those.
Also, could be the red Gran Sports. The Gran Sports headbadges seem to have have a gold outline rather than silver, but this could be apparent on other models.

I also think that trying to ID a model using some or all components will not be fruitful. It is well documented that Viscount had supply issues and on many occasion and used whatever was available in their stock room.
Also, on this one of 'thegreenos', you have the shade of red that was 100% used on the Aerospace Sport (yes, it was used on others too- so it's not an ID with 100% certainty , but I'd be 80% happy to say it's a Sport)

I'd go with Aerospace Sport as well. Original forks on mine were full chrome, but they were slightly twisted. Like me,some folk may add! I replaced these with Crosslight alloy forks. These gave me the option to experiment with braking systems. I settled on mini vees, very much improved braking. Don't worry about non-original parts. As sooper8 says,it could have had just about anything on it from new. Enjoy the build, but most of all enjoy riding it! Welcome aboard. Cheers, Pete.

Plus one vote from me for an Aerospace Sport. It looks like the Sport frame I stripped for painting a couple of weeks ago, except for the brazed-on seat post pinch bolt eyes where mine had a separate chromed steel clamp band embossed with four overlapping rings.
If it's of any more help, my 22" Sport frame weighed about 1.85 kg stripped of all fittings including headset, and the half-chromed forks weighed about 0.87kg.

So an Aerospace Sport it is, thanks for the advise. As noted it came with no forks, can I use 700c forks or will i have to source some 27inch ones?

As long as the steerer tube is one inch, threaded, you can use either. Note that the 700C road forks tend to be racing / sport oriented, take a shorter clearance brake, have a bit less rake and sometimes lower the head tube and steepen the head tube angle. This will quicken the steering a bit.
I did that on purpose last year and actually had a negative slope top tube of a few degrees. Noticeable when leaning on the level bookcase, but otherwise you had to really look. Personally, I loved the results in both looks and handling.
good luck!

I have a question about the B/B. Just about to fit with new bearings.
The question is, is the long extension on the drive side or the other? There is only a couple of mm in it.

I believe that the extended taper goes on the right hand (drive) side. Re: 'Does anybody know what model this is, I need to by some decals?' You can currently order a set of Viscount Aerospace Sport decals for just £9.99 at: www.bicyclestickers.co.uk/sticker-sets/viscount-bicycle-decals-stickers-and-transfers/viscount-bicycle-decals-stickers-transfers-1.htmlThe set comes with only one head badge, which has a silver surround. I guess if you want a badges for both the head- and seat-tube, you could order two sets, though their advert indicates that they can modify designs to suit your preferred colourways. I ordered a couple of the advertised sets and they look fine. If you want some very high quality decals and your pocket money will stretch, try: www.velocals.com/viscount-aerospace-pro-decal-set-sku-821/. If you email JR at Velocals with your particular requirements, he will provide the head/seat tube badges with a light gold surround and seat tube demarcation bands in light gold and white (both as fitted to the UK models that I have) and he can modify the top tube lettering to read 'Aerospace Sport'. I've just had him make up a set for my Sebring and a top tube decal for my Aerospace Victor. They look extremely good, though I haven't fitted them yet.

If you're using the bikes original chainset, then I'd agree. If you're using a non-origanal chainset you might need to use the spindle the other way about to obtain a decent chainline. Cheers, Pete.

Denver looks to be close relative of the Tulsa ....?
I guess the '1973' was a typo and he meant nearer to 1980?

Jon, Sebring frames are made from plain gauge 'Hi-Ten' steel tubing. They still ride very nicely, but don't expect a Sebring frame to feel lightweight. I'll try to look up exactly what mine weighed when stripped down, but about 3kg for frame and forks springs to mind.

Thanks for the info. I do not need the weight as I was mildly curious. (The Sebring 52 cm frame is one of the few frames short enough in the ST for me but also long enough in the TT dimension, but I was looking for a Reynolds 531 double-butted performance frame, not another "gas pipe" bike. I already have one that I love, the Peugeot UO-18 mixte that was my mom's for 30 years before she gave it to me. It is a wonderful town bike with lighter wheels and components on it.
