I submitted a photo of my "Aerospace Kiwi" single speed a while back and forgot about it. Got an e-mail from "Kevin" who saw it and loved it so I found a nice post and picture of it on 4/14 listings. "pitz's Viscount" Anything to get the Viscount name out there! He's got a rescued from the trash Viscount and I've invited him join on with us. www.fixedgeargallery.com

Did anyone ever accuse you of being a little conservative with the colour scheme?

How could we do that when you know who Nigel Farrage is! Cheers, Pete.

I like to think of the Kiwi as a very vibrant rolling Viscount billboard. Stella and I are also using our Viscount jerseys as "billboards". Hopefully I'll run into someone who'll recognize the head badge and has one that's been sitting in a garage waiting to be revived like Rip Van Viscount. Pete, fill me in on Nigel Farrage. I have no idea what I'm missing

Pete, fill me in on Nigel Farrage. I have no idea what I'm missing You're not missing much, trust me. I think it was a reference to my quote about conservative colour scheme that prompted Pete's comment. I'll attempt a brief overview (although I realise bringing any kind of political opinion on to a forum is never going to be a good idea ) In fact it's a terrible idea but here goes... He's a UK 'politician', in the loose sense of the word, campaigning on the UK standing alone outside of Europe. He courts publicity. He is from the English upper classes. He is to the right of the main parties and plays a game with the media, in that he doesn't say anything libellously repugnant, but his followers do, and are then publicly 'disowned' by him rather unconvincingly.(draw your own conclusions from that) I think one of them said that the recent floods in Cornwall had been a result of God being angry with same sex marriages. His views might be labelled fascist, misogynist, and in an historical/political time-warp, with some features from a 1930's Germany. He certainly has similarities with someone like Le Penn in France, but he's more like a daft fruitcake , obnoxious uncle type- which must be a winning political formula over here as we have Boris Johnson as London Mayor. If I was attempting any political impartiality (which I don't do in real life about politics but will make an effort on a forum), I'd say he obviously speaks for some proportion of the English public and has found a niche because the media share his views on some issues of immigration and Europe. Although I am not sure if The Daily Mail is part of the serious media. Now, let me just move the soap box back to the back yard, I'm done. I'm ready for any backlash from Fararge fans.

Got it. We've got our own version here known as Fox TV, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Thanks for "Phil-ling me in". (Obscure reference to Philip DeFranco on You Tube)

Jem,that's a very good summation of the bloke!Unfortunately, they keep cropping up, Oswald Moselly and the like. They undoubtedly appeal to certain people, who for some reason feel threatened by the flow of people into this country. We would be very hard pushed to find a person in Britain whose family tree has not been "influenced" by incomers to the country. It makes for a broader genetic mix,and there's nowt wrong with that. The only thing I feel he has achieved is a wake up call to the complacent lot who, regardless of political party, say they have the countries interests at heart. I'm not a follower of politics, but I have to say,"I know a bunch of tossers when I see one"! That reminds me,I have to get my soap box racer out for fettling for a race next month. Cheers, Pete.
