Fair condition. £50 start, or make an offer. If it was more local I’d go for it.

Looks like it’s generating some interest after a slow start.

I'm going to be a bit brutal here and say, I think the buyer got a bit carried away, that's too much to pay for that.
It's an early model, and ok condition, but it's a lot of money.
EDIT- looked a bit closer and it's not even in ok condition is it? And a Simplex RD..? I'd have waited for something a bit more appealing to come up.

Folk do get carried away and sometimes drawn into a bidding war. Vintage bikes are overpriced in my opinion, don’t get me wrong, I love the things but more often than not you are taking a big risk and don’t know what they’ve been put through over the years.

Interestingly, if you follow the bidding, an eBay noob made the running early on but the winner was an experienced eBayer (800+} who got one bid in at the end. So presumably not a feeding frenzy. Not an excessive price to my way of thinking.

Not an excessive price to my way of thinking. It’s worth the money to a serious collector or someone seeking sentimental value but looking at it logically it is overpriced. Parted out you wouldn’t make your money back, so it’s got to be a restoration project. The whole vintage market is a bit bizarre at the moment. I recently sold a Reynolds 501 Raleigh frame from the 1980’s for a fair amount, some kid from York picked it up to make a Fixie.

Not overpriced in my opinion, try buying half of those components and you would have spent more.
I know this is often the case but if restoring a Lambert and you needed a donor bike that’s not bad

True, the component prices alone on US eBay seem to have decreased dramatically in the last year or so. And many of the complete bikes are listed as local pickup only. Unfortunately, the USA is a rather large country to be dashing about picking up bikes a few thousand miles away. And local-to-the-bike shops typically charge at least $50 plus shipping, so a complete bike can become outrageously expensive very quickly. At this point, the only one that would tempt me is one of the earlier lugged Lamberts. Best, John "wheelson" Wilson

If it was local to me I would have this, already restored one and with what I learned from that think I could do another easier. flic.kr/p/2j4wKxT
