For the life of me I can't figure out how to disassemble these pedals so I can re grease them any help? Attachments:

Try inserting a fine screwdriver blade under the end cap.This should then prise carefully off.Pedals with no obvious
flats or gripping areas there are usually just a push fit cap. Inside will be a nut and under that a cone.Along with
ball bearings and hardened grease.These nuts and cones are "handed",should be apparent when you see them.
They're usually 12mm on anything after the mid 1970's.

Hey,
I've just recently done them myself. They're simple cup and cone fixtures: take the dust cap off, then grab two spanners (it's a 15mm on the side where the pedals screw into the crank) and turn in opposite directions. It'll come loose. Then unscrew all nuts and washers and carefully remove the bearings. Clean everything and put grease on one side first. Can't remember which one, but one side is larger in diametre--I think it's the one where the pedal goes into the crank, so beware of that when assembling again.
Once everything is back together, you need to do the usual adjustment: no play, but smooth turning.
Good luck. And another tip: to get rid of the rust take some tin foil, tip it into some water and rub it over the pedals, should come off nicely.

thanks for the help! i figured it had to do with that dust cap but I didn't want to pry something off I didn't have to and thanks for the rust removing tip stella. man this is the most helpful forum I have ever used.

any specific way to get those dust caps off? im having a real hard time getting them to pry off.

Just really, really carefully with a very think screwdriver or anything else thin. Maybe try to spray a bit of GT85 or put a few drops of Plus Gas on it. If anything fails try to carefully grip them with pliers and try to carefully wiggle them off. It's a bit like a tin of shoe polish: can be a bugger to open.

Now you know why so many old bikes have no dust caps on their pedals!
A destructive way I've had some success with,is to drill a hole through the
cap,some already have this,and use a self tapping screw as a puller.

Please don't destroy the caps; they're really hard--let alone expensive--to get. I wish I had another cap for my Lyotard capless pedal. Destruction only when really necessary. They're a tight fit and also difficult to get back on, but the pedals look all the better with them on. Yours could come up really nice when polished.

By the way, those caps look like screw ons. I'd try to carefully clamp it in a vice after using some GT85 and try to turn them. I see those pedals are made in Germany? Or is it just my eyes? Weird, that is.

I think they are made in Germany ill have to check but i thought i noticed that to while glancing at them im gonna try my hardest to get these things out so far i cant get a good grip on it with any type of pliers! i didnt even think to try and screw them off lmao. ahh sounds like another day of fun!
