Sorry if this is too far off the Lambert-Viscount spectrum. I am working on a 1997-8 Bianchi Trofeo that one of my music friends sold to me for $25. I removed the 8-speed cassette cogs (12-23) for cleaning assuming one of the splines was wider than the others to provide an index for proper cog "timing". That would have been true if this were the "new" old Campy 8-speed freehub. However, on the original all of the splines are equal width and you rotate the cogs to the right position based on letters A-H stamped on the cogs. I did not pay attention to this detail and now do not know how this system works for reassembly. I have not been able to find the answer online. I am hoping someone here knows the answer or can point me toward a spec sheet/manual. At the moment I don't feel like huddling over a set of cogs with three mechanics at the LBS.
