The crank on this isn’t unusual for Viscounts. They were a different style from the ‘Porthole’ chainring, but still based on the TA Criterium/Cyclotouriste (?) pattern. I have a similar one on my Grand Sport, I think it’s a 52/44. The BCD is quite large (144mm?) so I think that the smallest inner ring you can fit is a 43T.

I didn’t think it was over priced and in truth my Lambert that I can now say is bar some toe clips finished and will be taken for a test ride this weekend when I’m back home has cost me a shade under £400 to restore but I now have a near mint bike.
It always amazes me how people do seem to frown at repainted frames.......this one had flaked paint and surface rust, it was beyond salvage and I have had it professionally painted to the original colours - put life back into a frame that was heading for the tip and some on this forum felt may have gone too far. At the end of the day I like it and will add to my collection so dont care what the negative purists say but sometimes repainting isn’t an option unless you want to ride a rust bucket of course......!
