That works just fine, Pete, and thanks! Nice stuff, and if anyone here wants one or all I'd be happy to take a day next week and go get them.
Best regards, Frank

Wow! That's a good $150's worth. I see Lake Mills is not far from Madison. I know Wisconsin a bit as I worked in West Bend, Washington County, one summer when I was a student. West Bend is a bit north and east of Lake Mills.
I wonder how much international shipping on a frame is now? ....
I bought my gold Lambert frame from the US but that was some years ago. And shipping coincided with a customs strike in the UK, which meant that a backlog built up and I think things got through without paying tax - my frame did!
Incidentally, I've just bought a pair of Dura Ace brakes from the US, for just under £18 plus about £17 p&p. I've been caught for £7 tax in the eBay Global programme. That seems to be 20% of the total. I thought VAT was only payable on the cost of the item - this seems to have been levied on the total inc. p&p. And there used to be a rule that items below (I think) £18 value didn't pay tax at all. (Compare with if you travel and import stuff with you - you're allowed about £150 IIRC.) Not worth complaining - the eBay complaints system is hopeless - just saying.

Hi all, I don't do Social Media, (Too many Russian bots there,) but here is what appears to be an original gold Lambert frame and parts that just popped up on eBay a few hours ago. I will include the URL and the eBay auction #. I really have no room for it, but someone should save this bike if it is what it appears to be. www.ebay.com/itm/362231558244?ul_noapp=trueeBay item number:362231558244 Randy

Not worth complaining - the eBay complaints system is hopeless - just saying. Will a proportion of the cost be a handling fee, and only 12% of that be import tax? At £18 it must have only just triggered import duty? Looks like we might have to expect the same kind of import duty from items within Europe in the future?

I know we have import duty when bringing goods into the UK and this is levied on the value of goods and freight but if the goods are second hand surely there won’t be any VAT will there?

That’s odd as I do import from China textile products and on this we have to pay import duties which is variable dependant on the commodity plus VAT based on the goods value plus the freight charge. For used goods there really should not be VAT but you will have the import duty to pay.
