Thought people would like to see a couple of photos of the Lambert RD I recently bought at vast expense from an eBay seller in the US. Although Lambert front derailleurs (the 'matchbox' type, like an early Campagnolo one) are not uncommon, the RDs are rare because, for whatever reason, they were not produced for very long. Some say it was because they had a slanted parallelogram, infringed the SunTour patent and Lambert was consequently warned off using them. Others say that they were just very fragile, were too much trouble to set up and tended to break. People who have seen my gold Lambert know that I have a Lambert RD on that and it shifts reliably over at least 5x2 (52-42). The fact that I can't usually access the 32 ring at the same time as being able to reach the 52 one is probably down to the FD, although finnicky adjustment might play a part. This one doesn't have any Lambert branding, although my other one does, as does the one on this Reg Harris Lambert. Scott, is your Reg Harris still for sale?

Yes it is......not many of these around, but the condition of mine is not good, a great rat look though. Took it to sheffield cycle jumble, asking £85....would take £70 just because I have a soft spot for him & not desperate to let go. Needs tyres. www.flickr.com/photos/124853585@N02/albums/72157667391916245
