Frame looks good, although some of the components are rusty (curse this British climate). Worth a few pounds just for the Bluemel's mud guards (fenders) and pump (inflator).

Frame's 22 1/2. I'm tempted, too. Lovely little yellow beast. I shouldn't, I shouldn't, I shouldn't.

I'm in contact with the owner, asking all the questions. :-)

So where does this model (that I have never heard of before), fit in to the Viscount family/range?
With the Tulsa , Colorado,Nevada ?
Or some sibling to the International? (owned by Whippet)
Cotter pins in the crank? I can't quite see...

No idea. Looking at the cable set up, it's not a UK set up (front brake left), but since it says International, I'd think it's an International.
Cotter pins: difficult, but the crank shape would suggest it has cottered cranks with a Maxy crank set (if I see correctly).
The hubs aren't Viscount's own brand by the looks of it, probably Normandy with steel axles. Have inquiered re the group set, but assume it's Simplex or Huret.

Yeah, I'm going to do that. The top tube is 20 and the gears are Simplex.

My brother's International came with Simplex. We had cottered cranks as well. Certainly looks original.

Hi Kev- just to try and help me put the model names on the Viscount 'family tree' - Is the 'International' a distinct model from the 'International Alamo' or 'Alamo International'? Was this the one your brother had? What year did he get it?

We got them in 1976. Hadn't heard of Alamo ( though there was some link with "Sebring" ). As Busaste will confirm, they were lower spec Viscounts with frames from Taiwan.

Just an update: the seller wants to rather wait and not do the Buy Now. Maybe good as I shouldn't spend any more money on bikes and use it to get the Indy blasted instead. It's not only the bike, but also the courier which always adds 21 quid.

I'm not sure. Will see what happens. I also doubt it'll go much higher.

Who's tempted by this yellow peril? £9.99 with 5 hrs to go...I doubt it'll top £25. All original but, a lot of work needs doing. Those Blumels mudguards are worth £10 alone. High flange hubs (but prob steel rims) 5 speed? With a finish time of midday, nit too many bidders around?

I have placed a bid. Its not too far from me and well worth a punt.

Good luck, Scott. I wanted to bid, and was even tempted again when I saw was not going up, but I really can't accommodate more bikes or spend more. If it had been London, fine, but the 22 quid for courier ... And all the work that needs doing. I've got enough on my hands right now. Shame, I really think it's a cute bike.
So, anyone who's not bid because of me, please go ahead.

Davy Crockett has joined the family of Viscounts, the Sport & Colarado.

I'd offered 20 to the seller with the promise to restore the bike. Not sure how s/he ensures the bike went to good hands. I guess Davy Crockett is a friend of yours, Scott? If so, welcome to him and congratulations on a lovely little bike.

Picked up the 'Alamo' last night, a quick clean, tyres holding air, brakes & gear change working, a quick run down the street. A great little runabout.

Awwwww is this cute! So glad it's in good hands. Came up nicely, didn't it? Now I wish I had bid ... :-)
Are those Normandy steel hubs? I think the bike would be really great with some HF Viscount hubs and alloy wheels.
