Gents / Ladies Food for thought. Very short of space but found this on ebay yesterday and thought its up my street; needs rescuing, a lot of work and I think its just about all there Could you let me know your thoughts The rear DR is a suntour sprint 7000 but should be Crane? the front DR is right dura ace, crank SR Apex ok, downtube shifters , saddle given, seat post ?, hard one now wheels, front possible rear looks different nice clamps on for pump and clips I don't like the big braise guide on for the front DR Will this be a sealed bottom bracket? Breakfast, a bit of golf then get the back bedroom cleared out ready for the next adventure!! Best Regards Richard (up here in Yorkshire) Going to fetch it today and just finished this off Raleigh Royal Red

I saw that one, and thought that with a bit of work it could be a nice buy. The saddle alone looks to be worth £15 or so? Pedals £10, seat post £7...so, you can't go wrong.
Just hope that the seat post is freely moving, that could be the number one issue.(although I see an Eroica entry number on the bars which indicates it's been used recently and maybe would give me just a bit more confidence that the post is ok? But no way of knowing till you get it)
If it's the same up in Yorkshire as down here then your golf ball will need a tracking device on a morning like this. Pretty windy!

Windy you're right, just texted the boys, get ready!! Pedals, what do you think these are (now found to be Olimpic 64), too bulky spindles for campy and the large braise-on for the bottom bracket looks clumsy May look for a lambert "circles" style crank, thoughts

That's a nice job on the Royal: I have an earlier version (1984) of one of these which is my go-to machine for the Yorkshire Dales, since it's better geared for my ageing legs. My Viscount principally gets used for the Vale of York.

I like your idea of the "circles" Lambert crank. They really define the early Lamberts / Viscounts. I'm putting one on my blue Viscount build, actually using an old ring with the teeth removed and dressed up as a chain guard/base ring and two lower (46 28) for my old guy legs here in Western Pennsylvania, USA. Good thing is, with a spare ring it can always be changed back. Sounds like others on the list are going to lower gears as well! Best, John "wheelson" Wilson
