My Aerospace Pro rides comfortably, but it is certainly soft next to my 651 steel bike. Well not entirely fair, to be more accurate the front end on my 651 feels stiff, the random no name fork on the Viscount feels like wet spaghetti. Couldn't tell you if it was original. Probably?
Has anyone upgraded the front end with fancy forks? Or just reached out for fresh nice looking steel ones to reuse stems / bars etc? I'm not adverse to spending coin on it.
Oh and that's a point, whats the measurement and rank angle? :S
Cheers Dan

PICT0185 by petethebike, on Flickr Here's the fork I put on my Aerospace Sport a few years ago. It's a Kinesis alloy fork,1" a-head set. It works well with mini vee brake. I've not measured the rake or trail, but it works ! Good luck in your endevours. Cheers, Pete.

Bowie, If you haven't found anything more hi-tec yet, you might want to try a pair of NOS 27" steel forks to see if they improve your ride at all. Bankrupt bike parts are currently advertising three pairs of NOS 27" forks, from £15 to £25. All steel and with mudguard eyelets - one pair with pannier rack eyelets too. You'll obviously need to check that the steerer column length is enough for your A/S pro. I have a pair of chromed steel replacement forks on my Sebring that were sold as 27"/700c but, while they will take a 27" wheel and 27x1¼ tyre, I find that there is barely enough room left between the tyre and brake calliper to fit a front mudguard. V-brakes like Pete's might allow mudguards more readily, though Pete's Sport looks like it might have a 700c front wheel. Also check your headset's fork crown and head tube race dimensions: JIS (27.0mm fork crown race, 30.0mm head tube) or DIN (26.4mm fork crown race, 30.2mm head tube). The head tube dimensions aren't such a nuisance, but a DIN crown race won't fit onto a JIS fork, and a JIS crown race will flop about on a DIN fork. Screen Shot 2017-05-31 at 20.35.51 by RMT@261, on Flickr If you need a JIS headset, they can be rare/difficult/expensive to get hold of, but BBP have one at £13.99. Disclaimer: I have no commercial interest in Bankrupt Bike Parts, but they are reasonably local to me and I have found them very helpful.

Cheers Rob. Yes I was out buying some replacement bottles actually (who knows where mine got too...) and my local bike shop had a bunch of good looking Cromo / Steel forks to choose from, threaded and thread-less! I think I still start there, just to avoid replacing bars, quills, etc etc etc. I just took for granted that some of that stuff would be floating around / a replacement possible. Next month Cheers, Dan
