As I've previous said, I've noticed that the geometry of Viscounts varies. For example: I can't put the rear wheel with an inflated tyre (Panaracer Pasela) into my 22" frame. The chain stays don't leave enough space. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I can do that in the blue frame. When riding, I can easily reach and adjust the down tube shiftes on the red 22" bike, but the blue one requires me to stretch my hands, although also being 22". Or maybe I just need to measure them again. Anyone else experienced such curious thing?

Biscuit seems a tad long , I put it down to the 4 1/4" stem (110mm)

That's indeed quite a long stem. I'll change the stem of the blue bike as I find I'm not as comfy on it as I'd like.

In an attempt to not feeling like every bike I own feels completely different when I ride, I've standardized a few simple measurement points that may help those (Stella!) with the same issue who own multiple bikes. It really has worked well for me.
I've set all my bikes to the same saddle height measured from the pedal contact area to the top of the saddle in line with the seat tube is measurement#1 The distance from the back of the saddle to the front of the stem is measurement #2 kept the same. (Reach) Keep the saddle to handlebar/brake hoods drop as close as possible the same. I find about 1" to 1 1/2 " drop about right. That's real difficult to achieve with the deep drops/narrow handlebars that were standard Viscount issue where the brake hoods are just too low. I find much more comfort with shallow drops where the brake hoods are very slightly lower than the handlebar tops. That's my one area to change on a regular rider.

Yes, that's what I'm trying to achieve. Since my beloved Sprint had to be retired, my bikes are all more or less the same size (21/22). The blue Sport came with a longer stem, and I'm sure that when I've swapped it for a 85mm it'll be just perfect.
Re the handlebars: that was something I wanted to mention anyway; I love those as they're the right width for me and very comfy (let alone beautiful), I've angled them a tiny bit, so I can easily ride on the hoods. I rarely go into the drops. I've noticed that Whippet did the same (angle) and wondered if others have done, too.

That was very observant to notice me changing my bar angle Stella. I only did it on Saturday morning in preparation for the time trial. Worked fine both on hoods and drops.

It works perfectly fine for me, too. Apparently the 'new' method of adjusting the angle of the brakes is to put a ruler at the end of the drop--along the drop--and the lower end of the lever should be in line with the drop.
Everyone now sufficiently confused? Good, my job here's done for today. :-D
And sorry, Kev, to have made you a 'whipped' in my previous post. That was very ... um ... well. I've corrected the error.

They'll only find chains, rubber, leather, and discussions about bottom brackets! I feel we may be going "viral",what ever that means!!!! Cheers, Pete.

And how about lacing and nipples? I sent my friend a link to the Sapim nipple driver and it had her and the rest of the office in stitches.
